RMX-OS: Help Needed!

Question

Hello!

I was just wondering... Has anyone here used the Online System for RPG Maker XP? I need help setting it up... If I start up Navicat and try to connect to my server, it comes up with an error, 2003-Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

Also, if I try to turn on the server, the command prompt opens, shows a bunch of letters/numbers, then closes.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks!

I think I tried setting it up once unsuccessfully. Would awesome to use it though if only I knew how to set up a server.

As for the mysql error, I think you get your answer if you google it since it has an error code at the end there. From a brief skim it looks like it may be a windows firewall blocking it.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. :biggrin_002:

I've been a bit busy lately with school, but I'm still working on RMX-OS. When I get it set up, I'll post a tutorial in the User-Submitted Tut section and I'll post a link to the topic here. :alright:

Alright, I am now running a succesful RMX-OS Server and Client with Blizz Abs installed... :biggrin_002:

first in navicat right click local host and select open connection

find where it says password and enter the password you used when configuring MySQL on your computer then go back to navicat and

select "execute SQL file" where there is an empty bar with a button with three dots in it, click that and open RMX-OS SQL Database.sql which is located in the database folder in the rmx-os server folder

then in the rmx-os server folder, making sure you have already installed ruby, open up rmx-os and it should run fine and stay open saying "RMX-OS server has succesfully started

If no one can connect you might want to do this.

Now in order for you to allow other players to connect you might need to do a little port opening(Firewall Off) and put your computer in the DMZ on your router.

Im taking a Networking class so i might be able to help a little.
