Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted November 2, 2010 RMXPU, Yes I know a very odd name for a topic, but I was looking to see if Visual Studios 2010 had come out and of course it has (been waiting for it). Then I saw the price of their Ultimate edition: $11,899.00 and thought to myself, "why do all the good things cost so much damn money?" Then I hit up mu old friend Google and searched for: Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate 80% off. I looked at a few links, one offered an illegal download, but I wanted a legit version and a legit discount. Then I found this site selling many software at 30%-75% of and I found exactly what I was looking for: Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate for $399.00. And of course I read their FAQ to see how they are able to sell it so cheap: 1. Why do you sell software cheaper than official brand providers do? Because buying the software with us you receive the copies of downloaded licensed versions. This means, you will have no hard copies of documentation (licenses or instructions) - just files and instructions in .txt format. This software is not registered online. But we can offer you all updates for most of the software. This software is purchased by wholesale from official providers, whose wholesaling prices are considerably lower. As we do the minimal price markup free of packing, recording, transportation expenses, our price is lower than the retail price of official providers. 2. Is your software of full versions and not of upgrade versions? Do you sell upgrade software? Do I need to have a previous version of product? We are selling FULL versions ONLY - not upgrades. You don't need to have any previous versions of the software. If you have any other versions already installed (previous ones or upgrades) you need to REMOVE them completely before you start installing our software (to avoid conflicts between different versions of the software.) After un-installing you should also clear the Registry (for PC software) from the corresponding entries. 3. Can I still get updates from the manufacturer's websites? Yes you can. Our software is full and legal to upgrade unless it is mentioned in the instructions, which come with the software. You can also ask our Support team about exceptions. So if your short on cash and can't spend hundreds or even thousands of $$$ on software check them out. I'm going broke just thinking about all the stuff I can buy. Plus you can upgrade from the official site. So for example I could buy Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection ($299) and then go to Adobe and upgrade to version 5 for $899 (still expensive for some I know). This means you could get Suit 5 Master Collection for $1,198 ($299 + $899 = $1198) instead of $2,599; saving $1,401. Now I know most of you (or all) still can't afford this, but the site already sell version 5 any way for $349.90. Marked 197 Report post Posted November 2, 2010 Whats an Orgasium? Lol a bit of a typo there. Nice find Kage. 11k, that's some ridiculousness right there. Surely it is for companies only? And not intended to be bought by individuals, especially hobbyists? I find it admirable that you buy software legitimately. However I can't help but wonder what you get out of it when you can have the exact same thing without paying. Just a thought, hope it is not an offensive one. Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted November 2, 2010 Well: 1) Able to update it and not have to worry about it no longer working. 2) Ultimate version built in Bug tester is WAY more powerful then the free or standard version. Plus $399 (legally) for a $11,000+ software? Ya, I'm sold.

Marked 197 Report post Posted November 2, 2010 Since the site offers 80% discount, I was thinking, are you sure its not a scam to sell you an illegal copy?
Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted November 2, 2010 (edited) Since the site offers 80% discount, I was thinking, are you sure its not a scam to sell you an illegal copy? Oh, I'm not stupid. Research is key in this case. EDIT I e-mailed some of the VENDORS they resell for; will see in a few days if they are a scam or not. Zeriab 9 Report post Posted November 5, 2010 Ultimate is for teams you have also Visual Studio 2010 Premium and Visual Studio 2010 Professional. The title say OEM Software so it may be legit where the software you can buy is a single computer non-commercial home version. Want it on a new computer? You'll probably have to buy a new version. (This is assuming it's legit.) Another question you can ask yourself is if you really need the extra stuff in Ultimate compared to the Professional version. The professional version costs $549 or $1199 depending on which msdn subscription you want. (I dunno what the differences are) There is a bunch of stuff in Ultimate that you very likely don't need. The big question is whether the bug tester is the same or not. *hugs*
formlesstree4 18 Report post Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) I use DreamSpark. It's from Microsoft and because I'm verified, I get access to their software. Granted, not Ultimate version of 2010, but the Professional is all I need. *hugs Zeriab* Edited November 8, 2010 by formlesstree4

Blackbound 4 Report post Posted November 12, 2010 some schools can get their software off of MSDNAA which offers a TON more software but requires a school to fully register. I used that to get Windows 7 Professional for free :)
