swamp 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2010 I messed around with RMXP when I was in school & now that I've got some free time I'm looking into making a small game. Glad there's still a community of people who are using it. Out of curiosity, would you recommend upgrading to VX? What's improved about it?
Ecowolfsteen 14 Report post Posted November 6, 2010 Hello, Swamp. I would not upgrade to VX, because in my opinion, XP is the best. VX just looks prettier, and some of it is more complicated, like tile sets. But, some of it is more easier like creating chests. Have fun here, and enjoy your stay! Chief 30 Report post Posted November 6, 2010 To me, VX is horrid. The tiles are far too square to look fluid, and the sprites are too small and dis-proportionate. Stick with XP. Also, why is it that so many people have used RPG Maker in school? do schools use it? that is so strange to me.
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted November 6, 2010 Yea XP hands down. You can do so much more with XP and it looks and feels better. I look at VX like a Child's game maker. Think of it this way Windows Vista(VX) = Fail Windows XP(RMXP) = Win Welcome to RMXPU and if you need anything feel free to ask.
laansolo 3 Report post Posted November 6, 2010 Welcome. By the way, XP is better than VX, but there are things in VX that I do like. Like 2 animation sets per animation, and the easier map making. But XP has WAY more scripts, resources, games, and customizational value.
