evil sgt death 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2010 Hi I'm Sarge. I'm more of a lurker around these boards but thought I'd sign up and hello finally. I've been spending the last 6 mths building a game (am still quite the noob!) but it involves a lot of custom tile sets and sprites etc so most of my time has been taken up with art and design work and a load of map making. Also a ton of puzzles which have been quite puzzling for me to figure out the switch routines!! Thanks to you guys though as I have got a ton of information from your tutorials and what not that is helping me along. Its not ready for demo just yet but when it is I shall post it for you all to check out.
Tomo2000 60 Report post Posted November 7, 2010 Hey, welcome to the forum. Either it's not even bed-time or its nearly morning (by morning I mean, like, 6am. Not 12:01am). What country do you live in? Also, what is your project about? Hope you enjoy your stay :D .

evil sgt death 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) @tomo I'm in the UK so it's morning lol. (Now 10.55 if you were wondering). The project is a bit of a comedy puzzle rpg (a bit of an in joke that most wont get to be honest). I run a gaming site an help out on another and occasionally throw out a podcast (this is not a shameless plug here I promise) so it's about a group, charicature's of myself and co hosts on a quest to destroy a rival group (another gaming site we affiliate with). I'm doing the whole project my self but will prob get some help with the script at some point (talking script not RMXP script). laansolo 3 Report post Posted November 7, 2010 Welcome. Enjoy your stay. Since you didn't put what maker you use, what maker do you use? Also, what kind of storyline does your game have? Does it have a "Storm the Castle, Save the Princess" or more of a "These people killed my family. Now i kill them". Or is it none of those?
evil sgt death 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2010 Hi Iaansolo. I'm using XP. The game is more along the lines of a point and click adventure where you have to find items to progress, keys and doors kind of stuff but with a make over of broken locks and crowbars. Or using computer terminals to break locks etc. There will be battles along the way but as you investigate what's been causing trouble in the local town etc. But the rpg aspect will be quite basic as the focus is more on the adventure game parts. laansolo 3 Report post Posted November 7, 2010 So its like silent hill, without the horror?
evil sgt death 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2010 Pretty much lol. That's how I'll advertise it I think. "A 16bit Silent Hill, without the horror. Or the zombie mutant nurses. And more laughs." I suppose it's a bit more like Monkey Island without the pointing but some clicking and a bit of fighting. I'm just in the proccess of looking at some decent renders I can edit for bad dude battlers

evil sgt death 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 @Iaansolo I checked out that link. The battlers weren't really what I'm after but that's fine I don't mind editing renders. However, the face maker tool is a great find and used it 4 times today already for chars I was stuck on so thanks for pointing there!
laansolo 3 Report post Posted November 10, 2010 Sorry that the battler makers didn't work so well. Glad you got the faces, though.
