I have not been able to log into Windows Messenger for a month.

Recommended Posts

I have not been able to log into windows messenger for a month. This problem started after the update last month. I checked my firewall and virus protection settings. Neither are blocking the program. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program with no success.

Please help....

Is your .NET Framework updated?

What does it say when you try to sign in?

If it gives you the option to Troubleshoot when signing in then do that then click repair.

I get this message.

However, nothing is blocking the messenger. I did the troubleshooting to try to fix the problem, but nothing works.

Here is an idea. Not sure it will work but its worth a try.

Create a new administrator account and try signing into MSN on that account and let me know if it works.

1. You could try what i said in post #8

2. Try scanning your computer for viruses and malware using.

Malwarebytes

Spybot

3. You can use trillian as a last resort.

I would consider signing in with a different messenger (like pidgen)

see if that works.

It took a couple of months to find the heart of my problem. Mircosoft's staff finally told me that this is an known issue. I just have to wait before I can get back on messenger.

You know, after countless months of trying myself, I updated it to the newest version. Essentials, I believe.

Which do you have? It just might work, though after I did it, it would let me on once every few months. :sweatdrop: Might be different for you.

I have the newest version. It does not matter. Mircosoft knows it's a program problem and only they can fix it.
