nixonhacker 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2010 I'm using RPG Maker XP and have come a long way in solving a number of structural limitations, but I can't figure out how to provide one little nicety that would really give my game some personality: Some sound bytes that party members sometimes spout at random intervals depending upon the environment and/or where you are in the story. It seems complicated enough that a script is going to be necessary: I can't think of an expedient way to make it work within RMXP's framework. I'm not a scripter myself, so I have no idea how to approach this problem. Any help anybody could give me would be great.
madanchi 18 Report post Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) I can think of an awkward way of doing it with events create an event called Event1 -on player touch, play a se (sound effect), set moveroute (Event1 - move it a few squares away but still near the person speaking the se) Now all you need is to make it so the event when touched by player again, moves to a different location and plays a different (or same) se. I just dont know how to do this, something with 2 pages and switches/ variables, i'm no master but know users here who are :) edit: btw, welcome to rmxpu :) hang aroudn and you'll get an answer, especially if you create a thread in the introduction forum ;) Edited December 18, 2010 by madanchi
Free To Play 3 Report post Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) Wow, That's actually a pretty good way of doing that. It would probably work pretty simply, and I could event that for you. If you want, that is. Just send me a PM. EDIT: Aren't you an "expert" at RMXP? You should know how to do basic eventing... >_> Edited December 18, 2010 by Free To Play
