First Time Recolor - need critique

So, I was just messing around today and came up with these two. I was wondering if they looks weird or something, especially Nanika's eyes, are they too bright? Then there's the dog, does the gold looks weird or better? I kind of like it but...I wanted to get some more input.

Your recolours are pretty good. I especially like the cat, the eyes fit it really well. The gold looks nice, too, but theres no hat on the bottom frames? That's rather odd. Nonetheless, their good recolours, especially for your first time. Hopefully you'll make more soon. I also noticed its your first post, too. Maybe you should say hey to all the great guys around the place in the Introductions and Farewells Section. Hopefully we'll see you around.

pretty good, but if you know what your doing, recoloring is pretty easy, even in paint, it just takes awhile.

I've recolored sprites before. I recolored the rtp bird-4 sprite, to look like Valefore from FFX. my brother said it looked really good.

The cat looks okay. The dog should have a white-brimmed hat, It provides contrast from the red and off-green.

well i like them all, but why are they not having a hat from the back? and i like the gold one quite well. you've chosen the colours very nicely:)
