Marked 197 Report post Posted January 7, 2011 Oh well back in the day, like literally october 10th 2006, the site was kinda hacked but it wasn't specific to us. Our first host was 110mb.com and these people claiming to be arab hackers that dislike western people (this is from the page they replaced the site with) were going around all the sites hosted there. In those days a was totally newbie and thought they'd actually done some damage but they just replaced the index.php (or html) files with their own, so all u had to do was restore that and you were good to go. But do you guys remember not too long ago when all those people started getting mad at each other and spamming and the forum had to shut down? Yes, that was particularly bad because it involved some staff members too. The forum didn't have to shut down, but I thought it would be a good idea to give people a break and emphasis the seriousness of it, because a lot of members were involved. I think we killed the spamming too, at one point it was shocking. I think a few members needed to leave because they discovered they couldn't post without getting pinged for breaking the rules. Oh wait, no that I think of it, there was a hack attempt in '07, kind of. But I wasn't the admin and we weren't hosted by isaacsol. The person deleted our forum, but the guys here wanted my help with something (I had left the forum) so I had a copy of the database. Marked 197 Report post Posted January 8, 2011 You should read through the news section on the homepage. The topic titles alone probably tell a story. I am the creator and owner of this site. If you look at our old news items I'd probably be a little bit embarrassed, I did start when I was 15 and I was really immature back then. I left the site and gave it to Leon one occasion and EmilyAnnCoons on another occasion. Kage Kazumi was also admin at one point, but I did not appoint him. I did leave permanently and banned my own account, and Emily even deleted it accidentally in a member prune. I couldn't get the database from the invisionfree forum (they make you pay like $30 for it) so we started again.
