CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted February 22, 2011 Anime styles ≠ chibi. The majority of anime are "realistic" looking. Most anime isn't really realistic looking, at least not from what I've seen. Not counting Ghost in the Shell and the few others. Or at least most of the anime I watch are either chibi or chibi-like styled :P Well, I did just mean it in a way that said "Chibi" = less detailed, brighter. "Cartoon" = more detailed, matured, darker. I just used the terms the other user used to make a explanation of what I thought :)
Bigace360 38 Report post Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) The same can be said for RMXP. I thought it was assumed that most people knew that so i didn't say it. :sweatdrop: making it fullscreen doesn't determine the resolution. XP's Resolution is: 640x480 VX's, although I dont remember the numbers, is smaller. 544 x 416; I just Exported the GameOver image from VX, so i guess that's the size. Compared to all the others, very few anime are chibi-styled. 544 x 416; I just Exported the GameOver image from VX, so i guess that's the size. Yup, thats it. ShinkuAura 15 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 First of all.. GUYS Shut up saying that RMXP Rocks and VX sucks. both engines have cons and pros. Yes RMXP is better then vx but it's not perfect. Why don't you guys ask yourselfs. why did you download RPG maker XP,VX? Simple answer. you guys play games and wanted to make an original game that had great levels, story, combat and stuff. I seen people done Very good games on VX and they are fantastic. And i seen Good games on XP too. What im trying to say is that people are following there dreams of becoming a great game designer. Rgangsta is a perfect mapper, eventer, and storyteller and most of his game uses VX. Broken's Game Greass uses VX too. and they are Awsome games. I use VX and XP. and both of them are great engine. and you guys choose what game engine you perfer to work with.
ProjectTrinity 8 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 ^ Funny thing is: No one really said anything about VX sucking to the point where that needed to be said, so I'm surprised anyone actually played the middle-man card. Was there a particular "VX sucks, XP rocks" post you were referring to, because I'm quite sure we knew there were good VX games out there. o.o I was joking...I am renowned internet wide for my bad jokes :/. I just found out that even with using an external program to create the maps in VX then exporting it to a .png, it seems doing it this way would result in the player not being able to move behind the object! This is a huge draw back for me...I see that XP will probably be the one I choose. Unless I can find a work around for this. Ehehe, sorry~ x'D
Chief 30 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 "GUYS Shut up saying that RMXP Rocks and VX sucks." You can't just come in and say that. This whole thread is talking about which one we think is better. You have the right ti agree/disagree, but you can't control peoples opinions.
Marked 197 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 because I'm quite sure we knew there were good VX games out there. o.o No one is saying that RMVX cannot make good games. Actually my original post is not really related to most of this discussion, but that was only natural. My main point really is that RMXP is easy, and RMVX's features that make it easier than XP are unnecessary and may have consequently caused negative effects. Anyways, I actually emailed enterbrain, about a new RPG Maker. This is what they said (this is as is, they send me this in english): Thank you for using RPG Maker XP. We apologize that we have no schedule about these item's (legal english version of the new RPG Maker) resale. Though regrettable, The mail address which got the inquiry is the window which corresponds only in Japanese. So please ask CoGen Media Co., Ltd. (http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/) about a RPG Maker VX English-language edition. ***************************** ENTERBRAIN, INC. customer support group (in charge of Game Software) ***************************** Come to think of it, I didn't actually mention I used RMXP (you'll noticed they thanked me for using it), but I did link them to this topic... PS: try to avoid making off-topic posts regarding me half off-topic post :sweatdrop:
