Took me a whole day to recover but I'm guessing that they go into some kind of special training

 

The way Sora and Riku are moving and fighting look similar to Ventus, Aqua, and Terra who are keyblade masters, (except Ventus who was training to become one)

Why they look younger might be related to how the training works

ALSO

since they are fighting Xenahort and Ansem are seemingly back it must be after both kingdom hearts 2

Xenahort was never revealed till Kingdom Hearts II and Ansem was never Reveled till the end of Kingdom Hearts I

lol...this is why you need to play KH2 and CoM (in whatever order)

then 358/2 days, then BBS and Coded or Recoded.

a TON of stuff happened after the first game.
