Oh dear. I just had another idea:

 

The ability to make DLC for existing games on the engine.

This would be absolute epic!

 

edit: oh @Shiny, by 'locked' I mean grid locked, as in, the tiles don't move freely they're locked to grid squares, they snap-to (thats the word i was looking for)

Sorry for not replying in a while...got sorta sidetracked with a few other things.

I might be able to find a way to do this.

So you want it so that you can place the tiles wherever? I can try to find a way to do that.

That would require pixel based movement for the sprites, so you dont walk in a grid fashion as well. I think that would be pretty cool, but it would make mroe sense to keep it grid based for mapping, but being able to import paralax maps, much like in VX.

there is a script for that (pixel movement) so that would be much of a problem :P

lol? He's making his own game engine, this isn't for a game, or anything having to do with RPG maker.

um.. yea but if it can be scripted into rpg maker surely he can put it in his somehow
