New RTP for the RPG Maker VX

Enterbrain has released a new RTP for the RPG Maker VX! It is a Japanese themed! However, it is only available in Japan. Hopefully there will be a US release. You will have to pay for the RTP.

Yeah I heard about this on Broken Messiahs site. It's going to be interesting how site admins are going to handle the content when its illegally released.

 

I wonder if they decided to do this rather than start a new engine...

It was already leaked on RMVX.net but was horrible quality. Before I could say anything, the content was removed.

 

I think its neat they are making more resources for the game, but I don't think a Japanese theme is very useful, or at least not to people outside of Japan. Not a lot of people will be creating Japanese based games, or at least be using the themes. :0

I doubt this would substitute a engine though, I would love to see Enterbrain make a demo using the rtp that they give us instead of their own graphics.

Oh I didn't mean substitute. Seems like they're trying to respark interest in RMVX, further indicating no possibility of another RPG Maker.

This is what they should have done since the release of rmxp. If they released a new resources pack like once a year, they would get more income and rmxp/rmvx games would look less generic.

I think it is very useful. This RTP can make the game more realistic. You can have different countries with different cultures. However, to make this work Enterbrain would need to release a patch allowing more tiles to be used.

The New RTP is out! It costs $20. In my opinion that's too much for so little content.

I probably shouldn't just assume like that, but I agree; considering Rpg Maker VX already had a pretty steep price (although I guess Rpg Maker XP had a pretty steep price once upon a time.)

 

And I guess it's all perspective; I am a broke student so EVERYTHING is a pretty steep price to me :(

They have released FREE graphics in the past on their blog which they no longer post new graphics. I would understand if this pack was much bigger and had new graphics for the original RTP.
