RPG Maker XP Won't Open

Let me start off by saying that I am new here, so if this is in the wrong section or I messed something else up, I'm very sorry.

 

I installed RPG Maker XP a while ago on my 64 Bit Windows 7 computer, and it worked fine but I never got around to learning the program. Today I wanted to try it again, but when I double clicked on the RPG Maker XP icon, my mouse turned into that loading icon, then nothing happened. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling RPG Maker, I've checked the compatibility mode box, I've tried running as administrator, I've tried allowing RPG Maker to go through the Firewall and I've tried disabling my Firewall, but nothing has worked. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Can you see if the program is running in the background?

According to Task Manager, when my mouse turns into the loading icon, RPGXP.exe is running but as soon as my cursor goes back to normal, the process shuts down.

Adding RPGXP to the Data Execution Prevention list worked perfectly!
