This is a game in the early stages of developement. I'm making all of the art and music so it might take awhile, but in the meanwhile I'll post some screenshots and desriptions.

 

 

 

The story revolves around a young warrior who's villiage is attacked by a neiboring tribe.

the attackers possesed strange weapons, so the hero sets out to seek the source of this

new technology. Along the way, he is captured by unknown soldiers of a southern empire, and

meets a captain of the gaurd who is beggining to question his loyalties.

 

game play switches between the hero, the gaurd captain, and several other charactors in a quest to discover the truth behind an empire build of lies and propaganda.

I like your custom graphics. They look great. The story bothers me. It lacks development. Make your story more interesting to get more attention.

Even though the story is short, I like it so far. And I also love your use of a retro style of graphics. Very innovative.

Sorry, I'm trying not to reveal to much as the story is going to have alot of twists and turns. I didn't even like saying that much. Hopefully some of the gameplay aspects I will be developing in the next few months, and the snippets of information I will be giving out about the story will influence at least a few people to play it. I appreciate your advice though, and hope to hear from you on future posts. Edited by Knifewalker

Why does the Main Character look like a girl?

that's what everybody else is always asking him. the main charactor takes a lot of crap because of his funny blue hair.

I just noticed the minimum requirements for posting a topic here, and I dont think this game is ready to meet them. Could someone please tell me if there is a better place to post this? (sorry, new to the site, and I havn't had much time to check it out yet)

I love the graphics and the sotry seems very interesting. I know what you mean about not revealing to much. My game is like that also.

Looks like something i will play once a demo comes out.

Everything looks great, except for the black outline on everything... Its a fairly poor design choice.

Thanks alot, I'll be adding more screenshots as soon as I finish another signifigant portion of my tileset (spent the last couple of days working on my menu).

 

Everything looks great, except for the black outline on everything... Its a fairly poor design choice.

the reason for the outline is that I plan on making cutscenes using still frames of my artwork with camera pannig and sound effects and the like. I wanted the in game graphics to look as much like my drawings as possible. It doesn't suit everybodies taste, but I've always wanted to make a game like this, ever since I played Final Fantasy I.

I ve changed my menu around a bit, and I was wondering if I should keep the windowskin with the vine pattern or use this simple one?
