Dragon324 16 Report post Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) Okay so after about 25 hours of game play which in the end was more like 35 I finally beat Dragons Age 2. In the beginning it was kind of easy you know making small joins and what not. Then I started to get raped up in the game making extremlly hard choices. Then when I knew the game was about to end the hardest choice of all was one I had to make. Sometimes it seems I get so wrapped up in these games I believe its actually me in the game. I know its bad and its just fantasy but I wish I was born into a fantasy world I hate all this high tech stuff but o well. So anyway I finished the game and the final cut scene poped up and I got to see Leliana and I was left with more questiones than answers. I mean I know some of whats going on and the game sets itself perfect for a 3rd game. However know I have this feeling I cant explain I want to play the 3rd although I know it will be a few years. :o My point is I hate it when you get into a rpg you love and then the ending just throws you off and your left with this feeling of I guess anxiety well now its back to DA orgins then all the way through again. Geeze I'm obsessed and I cant stop well anyway now I'm going to compare DAO to DA2 for those who are thinking about getting it or just curious. Pros- Combat system- Its like a hack an slash game but you have control over a party. Found it intense and it kept me interesting. Inventory- It was nice having junk that went to the junk folder instead of so much wepons and armor that took up pointless space. Story- The story was okay. I did feel a lot of points where I was deeply connected and there were some heavy choices to make. Wheel- Being able to see what choice where good/evil helped Day/Night- Self explained. Houses- Yay not just a camp people actually live somewhere :P Cons- Maps- Okay this peeved me a lot, they kept using the same map again and again even if it was a diffrent area just some areas where blocked off or opened. This was only for side quest but still at least change them up a little. I also hated that most of the game revolved around 2 areas Characters- There is very little connection between hawke and his/her companions. Even if you do try to get romantic with one ( also there is very poor choices for romance options in my opinion) you feel like they dont much care. Other than that I did like how you could ask for some party members opinions but overall there needs to be more work to get them more involved instead of talking with them 5 times for plot. Auto armor- This peeved me too and it just means cant change your party members armor enough said. One city- You just got to be in one city enough said. Potions/Lyrium- Only one type no lesser or greater pretty bland. Glitches- They are there if you have any doubts go to the chantry when doing Isabella first quest you should see sinking fire that floats downward. Its in my opinion that orgins had a better character system because you can deeply connect with them. Also in orgins party member armor can be changed so you don't got pointless armor laying around. I understand why they used some maps over and over again in the 2 game but I would rather it loose an hour or so of game play just so each map is different. Story line was a tad more intense in Dragons age orgins. In orgins there was things like trap making and herbalist which arnt at your full disposal in DA2. Wished for older characters to return but not to much avail. The ending in DA2 sets itself up nicely for a sequel heres what I hope they change for DA3: Trap making and all that stuff back. Different levels of potions/ Lyrium Deeper connections for characters/story also more party member connection and involvement. More play testing to avoid glitches. Change party member armor as well Play as some orgins characters- Ive long missed some of them ( Mostly likely going to happen but I wont say why to avoid spoilers) No cool down for potions - God that was annoying if they want to make it harder make them heal less or cost more. Specialization for party members Variety of maps. My ratings- Dragons Age Orgins- 9/10, Awaking 7.5/10, Dragons Age 2 8/10 Like I kept trying to say Bioware you have taken a step backwards I still enjoyed the game but it was still a step backwards. My advice dont rush when creating games it makes the players unhappy Well I hope this guide serves at least one person well if anyone has questions or comments or found something I missed feel free to post. Also it is in my deepest opinion that in DA3 the champion in DA2 and your grey warden from orgins will be together ( finish the game to find out why I think that) Until then happy dragon slaying :alright: Edited March 12, 2011 by Dragon324
