Little Question

Question

I actually want your opinion.

I am currently making an MMORPG with RMXP. It's actually a pokemon game (got kinda bored of those fantasy games), after a battle, the chat get's invisble. It's still there, but invisble. You can still chat with people, but to see what people out of your range say, you have to press the "Esc" button each time you want to see it.

So, my question is, would you play it if you have to press the esc button each time you want to see what people like out of your range say? Or would you be like "Meh, sax" and leave?

Well, in short, the chatbox of my game is invisble. You can still chat, and you see the text under your sprite, but each time you want to see a list of what people said, you have to press the esc button. Now i want your opinion, in a mmo game where the chat doesnt work well, would you still play that game.

It all depends how much you need people to complete things. If you need other people to complete things(quests) and the chat doesnt work like it should then most people will look for another game. I would try to get a scripter to help you out with that problem.

If you dont need people to help you with quests and stuff im all game for it.

i think he ment help from "Npc's" and if the dialouge between them explains the quest , then the texts would be a problem :P

I'll explain it again. So now, I'm making an online pokemon game. Just a game where you can battle with other people, npc's, catch pokemon and fight with 'em. Now, there's also an option to chat with the other people. The problem is, after you battle someone, the chat box is invisble. You can still chat, but it's just that the chatbox is invisble. Now I'm asking, do you think this is a reason for people not to play my game?

Oooo. Now I get it. I don't think it's a reason for people not to play your game but I would suggest trying to find out what's wrong. Because sme text are hard to see on some tiles and it could frustrate the player.

Well, it's actually only used for chatting. Really just ONLY. Nothing else like quests are involved with this. And the player can make the chatbox visisble, but then he has to press the esc button each time he wants to make it visible (esc opens the menu).
