CyberDrive Ninja - Demo Available

Time for some updates! If anyone was follow this topic and thought this project was dead, you're sorely mistaken. :D These are just some updates I pulled from other sites along with some recent images. Enjoy!

 

User Input cutscenes. No more continuous reading either. Text can be easily skipped through by pressing and hold [sHIFT].

In this screenshot, this shows the first cutscene. Press "A" too late and you get shot but press "A" on time an the cutscene continues as normal. Keep an eye out for these.

Mission complete screen. Your mission will be evaluated at the end. Depending on how fast you were, the enemies you killed, people saved, deaths, or saves, you will get a positive or negative rank. Thus giving you points to upgrade the character.

Take pictures of selected events and wear their clothes. Just in case fighting or hiding in shadows is no longer an option. The Active Camouflage feature.

This Game is great, i was lured in the first gameplay, i was impressed way way impressed. this project is still active since roody is now in collage.

 

I am now developing this with the whole team. but i still have no place in the game i'm probably going to Map Design. i just hope i can help in the story.

 

by the way a new video is in the coming.

just played an hour long demo of this game , and I gotta say this is a MASTERPIECE ! loved every minute of it. Keep up the good work :D

@play testing the patched version of CyberDrive

RG let me play the patched edition and this is a great game. Everything is so professional looking R.G! You have really done a great job. Can't wait for more! This one could be a Game of the Year contender easily, very easily.

 

Bug Report-

  1. After the What are the Asura tutorial video part, when the screen comes back to the police station. The two npc characters seem to teleport into a different location. It's no big deal but I thought I would let you know.
  2. Any time a scene fades in or out the lighting effects stay on the blacked out screen after then map and characters go away.

Can't wait to play more. You have my full support.

how did you make that splash screen and

those with 1.6ghz CPU will not be able to play it smoothly

It is a script by MogHunter if I am not mistaken.

 

Splash screen came from Woratana. You mean 1.6ghz CPU. :P

Should run fine on lower RAM. There's nothing I can do to optimaize the speed of the game besides what it already is. Already got an antilag and all.

Well It isn't a bad game, it's badass. But there are a couple of unsolvable situations, and minor bugs. But what irritated me the most were frequent random crashes.

We are aware of the Glitches/bugs. This is an Alpha game (the demo is a beta)

A fully funcional Demo release is in the works.

 

Please play the game again, we are trying to fix all the bugs found by the community.

Yes, there is a New Game+ feature. After beating the game, you'll be prompted to save. Once you load up your saved game, NGP will kick in. I'll make it so that it gives the option to skip the prologue. So far, NGP only allows Mission Selection. I can add other stuff but that'll have to wait until the full game release.

Random crashes you say? I'll have to look into that.

As Omar said, there's a finalized version of the demo. All bugs have been found a fixed.

Currently, I'm branding the game with GDU logos and working on a Boss Battle for Part 2 of the demo while Omar works on Part 2

I can't really, but it's the windows default crash client, so it doesn't really provide much information. I can tell you when the crashes happened. For the most part they happened when changing scenes, when i approached the two agents in the alley, when entering the room with the locker after disabling the security system, when i clicked yes to saving after the battle with Yun and in the beginning of the next level when it's supposed to display your objective. Oddly enough each of them only occurred once.

Sounds more like a hardware issue to me. We've only had one crash before and that too was a hardware issue.

What are your system specs?

Windows xp sp2-ish

AMD Sempron 3200+ 1.8ghz

NVIDIA GeForce 7050 RAM 960MB

 

Could be, but I really can't complain of incompatibility issues.

Looks like your RAM is low. even though you need 512mb of ram to play CyberDrive i think you have something that could consume your RAM a lot more.

 

It could actually be that CyberDrive is using more RAM (since we have a lot of things in there) but i doubt it.

i'll try and make a "safe mode" feature on CyberDrive but it is complicated to work with 960mb of Ram.

 

edit: Roody i think users will need 1gb of ram. unless there's another issue with someone. right now try and post the minimum requierements for the game.

I'll see if I can test with people with less than 1GB of RAM. Cause I have 4GB so there's no slowdowns for me.

But even though, the crash sounds like something other than RAM. Low RAM wouldn't cause a crash, it would only freeze the program.

Lets see I only have a gig of ram and i can only run it smoothly when i turn of all backround apps which means you could only run it when you still have 512 mb of ram left

I'm working on reducing the lag a bit. Cutting down on the Parallel Processes. Even though there's not much lag now, when you get to a boss battle, lag reduces quite a bit. At least, for me it does.

Here's some screenshots of current things being worked on.

 

Here's a scene I'm eventing. It's a negotiation scene of a robber and hostage. This is a sidequest while exploring the city. Sprites are not finalized yet.

How tough are you? Play on different difficulties to unlock special gear and achievements. Difficulty also affects player stats, enemy stats(WIP), and many different aspects in gameplay.

I finally got a chance to edit the OP. There was a bug before that wouldn't let me edit  the topic. Seems like it's fixed now. :D

It's been a great month for CyberDrive Ninja.
Already, there has been 158 game downloads and 165 Youtube views.
The Project FURY team would like to personally thank everyone for their support. There's been a lot of feedback on the game and believe me, it's improving.

So without further ado, the updates.
 

  • The game has officially began PS3 and XBOX 360 controller compatibility. With this new add-on you'll
    be able to play CyberDrive like never before. You'll develop faster attacks, accomplish complex combos, and
    feel the CyberDrive world around you. The team is really pushing the "interactive environment" aspect of the game.
    If you have a PS3 and XBOX 360 controller, get ready to experience a new side to STEALTH NINJA ACTION.
  • Download content (DLC) will be available upon the release of the full game. I may release another demo to showcase new features
    but CyberDrive was designed for only one demo release. I'll have to see...

    Special weapons, AUGs, APPs, and missions are being designed for optional DLC. (DLC packs will be have site exclusives.)

    If you have an idea for a DLC pack, feel free to PM me as I only have a few ideas. Heck, I can even make some
    DLC designed just for you.
