RPG Maker XP!

Can anyone here remember when rmxp was going to be released and can remember viewing those sweet great graphics? A massive graphic improvement from rm2k, to me it seemed anyway :rolleyes: I remember seeing those newly released screenshots of a tent beside a river in some woodland and another screenshot with a river bridge! I loved it and couldnt wait to get it! Ahh those where the days :P

 

Just curiouse to see what people thought at the time before and on release for rmxp :) Also I remember discovering an abs and pixel movement... my rmxp world got so much wider it seemed

I got XP late, when it was at it's peak, and VX was starting to come out. I remember reading a site talking about the VX features. The first thing that came to my mind was, "I have to get this!". I can still remember the first game I ever made with VX. It was called Aruarian Soul. That was also the time I started using Photoshop CS3. Look at some screenshots from back then.

All this reminiscing has made me miss Aruarian Soul. So I just made a new title for it even though I don't have it anymore. :(

I see I wasn't the only one who had Naruto on their mind when they saw rpg maker

I discovered it right at the end of 2005.

 

As hard as it may be to believe, I was really into making games back then. I used Game Maker, and I was pretty good at it I think. I found rm95 on one of my older brothers CDs, and decided to google to see if there had been an upgrade. ]

 

From making a DBZ game in rm95 to testing RPG Maker XP for the first time was amazing. I liked it so much I can still remember the night I first tested it more than 5 years ago. In fact I can remember what I did that day, though I remember certain random events in some detail, I'm weird like that.

 

What followed was joining my first RMXP forum, Creation Asylum, fulfilling RavenClaws resource request topic and thinking this isn't a bad deal, and creating my own RMXP forum. :D

When I first saw RPG Maker Xp was when VX had just come out. I downloaded VX and started the installer when I saw what I thought was 2 versions: Rpg Maker VX and Rpg Maker VX-RTP. I installed vx it didn't work so I uninstalled it and installed the rtp "version" which didn't work so I scrapped it. A year later I found out that I needed both of them. I was so awed by VX but when I saw XP I thought it was the upgrade. So I installed XP but by then my VX Trial ran out and i learned I had to but them. So being the little klepto I was I swiped my mom's credit card and purchased both.
