Valdred 1 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 My vision RPG Maker is not dead. Not in any way. Classical RPGs are still very popular in the indie community and beyond, it is a great genre for storytelling in my opinion, and RPG Maker is the best tool for making these. The problem is that the first generation of RPG Maker users have left the scene, at least many of them, therefore it might seem like the community is dying. Nope, I don't think so. After all, the major RPG Maker forums have about 100 guests online constantly. If not more. I think the problem is that most RM forums today are driven by people who don't use the engine anymore. The forums aren't productive at all and aren't very good development arenas. On RPGMakers.net, my goal is to have a community that is active with development, various creativity, support, scripting, making resources and first of all, making awesome games. I want to try and raise the level of rpg maker projects by providing great and personal support. I hope to see you all on there. I am working on a project gallery and a resource gallery as well as on making the theme look better.

gRaViJa 4 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 I like that you thought about the goal for your community instead of just dropping yet another rmxp forum. Your introduction convinced me to sign up :)

Runefreak 1 Report post Posted April 30, 2011 (edited) Other communities (like rmvx.net, best example) are still led by RPG Maker users, and have much content / activity, and are most of the time a great place to be for feedback/resources on RPG Maker. I'll still join, good luck. ;) very VERY similar name. rpgmaker vs. rpgmakers Heheh. Edited April 30, 2011 by Runefreak
Valdred 1 Report post Posted April 30, 2011 (edited) http://rpgmaker.net/ Rpgmaker = an engine Rpgmakers = people making RPGs They are similar but after all, all rpg maker communities have similar names. Edited April 30, 2011 by Valdred
Valdred 1 Report post Posted May 3, 2011 (edited) We need three more participants, this is going to be awesome! RPGMakers.net has nearly twice as many scripts as it has days online in total. (Among the scripts are no less than 10 of MGCaladtogel's famous scripts) </brag> Edited May 3, 2011 by Valdred

Marked 197 Report post Posted May 28, 2011 Indeed we are. You know what I was thinking, having affiliated members in their own group so they can post in an 'affiliate news' forum.

ForeverZer0 44 Report post Posted May 30, 2011 Here's what my rpgmakers.net looks like. I changed the CSS with Opera. Valdred just won't remember to add it to the site. >8U
Marked 197 Report post Posted May 30, 2011 I never found that tool very useful, probably because I view my edits live. I don't really mind the skin but if I were to make suggestions, I would remove the rmxp grass background and change the banner. Oh, and also the forum markers.
