How to keep the game play balance?

Question

I'm having trouble trying to balance the party in my game. Part of the problem is the game does not have any characters whose purpose is to mainly heal the heroes.

I also have trouble balancing the bosses. It seems that the Bosses are not getting stronger. How do you guys balance this issue?

I'm assuming this is for Megaman VX, you could have a original character dedicated to this position, or maybe a passive skill system that includes heal related things.

Test, test, test, then test some more.

Its the only sure way you can make sure the game is balanced.

I'm guessing there's a battle test option in the troops tab (or whatever it's called) in rmvx, like in rmxp. use that. i had a similar problem.

I guess so. I was hoping that someone developed a mathematics system.

I guess so. I was hoping that someone developed a mathematics system.

I have kind of developed a system it works for me anyway.

You take the Delta ( or change in the stat)* the maximum level / 1.5 + the initial stat.

Note I dont know how well it works I have only used it for my 1 project. For me though it works like a charm.

Note I dont know how well it works I have only used it for my 1 project. For me though it works like a charm.

Here that might be kind of vague let me explain more.

Here it is in equation form.

Final Stat= The change in stat*(Times) that characters maximum level/ (Divide) 1.5 + The initial stat

You have to come up with the initial stat and the change per level then plug it in. So now let me give an example

Final Stat=? The change in stat per level= 4-7 Characters maximum level= 55 Initial stat= 200

?= 7 (always use highest)*55/1.5 +200

?=385/1.5+200

?=256.7 (always round up) so 257+200

?=457

So lets say that was Attack your characters final attack would be 457-Maximum. (For more approximation you could go back through just using the lowest number then pick the middle if you want or just do what I do and estimate like I would just take 30 off and have it set to 427). Anyway hope that helps I had a little bit of a better one but I forgot it if I remember what it was I will post it.

I don't think it is necessary to make it as complicated, actually.

Keep in mind there are several things you can do to change how much Heros hit for.

Lower enemy HP or Defense.

Make the enemy weaker to specific elements(even if it is slash or pierce if it gives the hero the necessary edge, then cool).

For the healing thing, you can have potions(as said before, assuming it is MegaMan VX)...

But since Potions don't really fit the universe, call them Powerups or Energy Boosts.

Just like in old school megaman, you could get the orbs that drop to fill your health a little off the enemies you kill.

If you need more help with your battles and everything, I am willing to help you out more.
