Hello everyone! Our team released a new demo of the Project Zelda Engine!

The Project Zelda Engine 4.3 is now out to the public!

Our team got still a lot of work to do on the engine, and lots of features have yet to be added, but the basic stuff is now done!

We aim to finishing the combat system's elemental effects, the Ravio's shop, and implement more scripts to the engine, if possible.

But the people can now get a taste of the new features we added so far to the PZE, such as the new particle system, the improved inventory keymapping, the monster behaviors, and many new scripts, to the PZE! The new demo also is a stable version, with most of the bugs have been already routed out!

I wanted to mention that the Project Zelda Engine forum has been completely offline for a week or two and the backup forum isn't even working anymore. SilentResident is usually around RRR but that site has an IPS driver error for the past few days. So until these issues are solved I am pausing my work with the team until they can solve these issues.

So has anyone heard from any of the team? The forum is down, RRR is gone, and even the backup forum has vanished.

how weird Shin, i've been looking forward to see the progress made on this project. I hope it doesn't crumble because of this problem.

Well Klok Sadly Charles in shutting down PZE.net as of tomorrow. 11/30/14

Most of the team has crumbled except myself and Baffou. We haven't even heard from Silent in a few weeks.

Trying to get a permanent site started and I will keep it open.

I'm sorry to hear that Shin, tho after the disappearance i'm not totally surprised. This was a great project so i hope you and Baffou can atleast get the engine mostly ready so people can use it effectively.

BIG NEWS!!

PZE Is Still Alive!!

Wanted to Update Everyone. I am taking over PZE.

Still Haven't heard from them, so I am continuing without them sadly.

 

So now we have an Xp and and Ace Team. No plans for a VX Team as of now.

The New Project Zelda Engine site is up and running. I built it on a freeforum so that it will never go away. It's nothing too fancy, just a place for PZE people to meet up and discuss all things Zelda!

Recruitment!!

If you ever wanted to be on the team (XP or Ace) now is the time!!! Already have several members for both teams and the new site is nearly ready to launch to the public (it is already open to the Dev Team). Since this is an old school Xp site hoping to get some more Xp ppl and Ace too.

Heard from SilentResident, Baffou and they are still working on PZE XP but it has a problem. There is NO Scripter for the Next XP update.

We are in dire need of a XP coder!!!!

A Zelda 2D platform...

 

Next sale around, I'm getting XP and trying it out because that would be awesome!

 

Hopefully this project is working and hasn't ended because I would like to try it out.

Well I'm glad PZE is still alive, good luck finding a coder. BTW what happened to SilentResident and Baffou? why did they drop off the grid?

Glad you didn't give up on this huge project!  I hope we can get some programmers working on this.  It is sad to see in this day and age that Indie developers have little or no access to buy gamemakers or toolkits that provide the proper framework to help us design games like Zelda 3 for commercial purposes, let alone non-commercial games!  It just blows my mind, cause its an epic system.

 

Besides this incredible project working inside RPG Maker XP,  the only other real option is to work with systems like Unity, Gamemaker, etc.   And even though they have many more features than XP, they still don't have a solid character and event database that I can see..   Hell, you even have to program the simple act of movement in Unity..   its such a setback in my opinion, or correct me if I'm wrong.

Massive update
 
First PZE has new site http://projectzeldaengine.freeforums.net/
SilentResident and most of the old team members have been hunted down or resurfaced!
PZE Teams are now working on three versions of the PZE engine including an Ace and MV version which are in the early stages.
PZE Community is having a thanksgiving day Chicken contest!!!
 
I kept it short but got to get back to work on the engines. btw we still need coders!!

@Cicada PZE is for NONE COMMERCIAL use only.

 

If anyone is interested in making a unity or other version pm me would love to talk about it.

I would totally use the Ace version once it's done. My current project uses a similar foundation (XAS), but I've never been totally satisfied with the current (and likely permanent) features. Looking forward to seeing what you guys can code in.

Will you guys be using an Extra Frames script for Ace? (to allow more animation frames for the player and enemies)
I think that would go a long way, especially with the custom sprites PZE uses.

Anyway, good luck with the project guys, I know all too well how often delays can happen, and how much they can hinder a project's development, but you all have fierce determination, and that's what'll make you come out on top.  :thumbsup:
