"Connecting to the activation server" proble.m

Every time I try to register my copy of RPGMaker XP, I get stuck at the screen where it says "connecting to the activation server." I'm using windows XP, so I thought I wouldn't have a problem?

 

I emailed Enterbrain about this, and I did everything they recommended

 

• installing .NET framework updates
  
• disabling the firewall
  
• reinstalling RPGMaker XP
  

 

Nothing has worked.

 

Is there anything else I can do?
