A zombie apocalypse would have been fun first couple of days as long as everyone wisened up on their zombie survival guide

too true. so long as they don't try to not kill their infected family or try to take out a zombie with a shot/stab to the heart.

i believe that any religion based theory about the end of the world is complete and utter rubbish, but i dont think we should all get in our shells and believe everything is fine, as for instance the 2012 theory is based on the Mayan calender, and if it has been recorded correctly, there calendar ends in 2012, also did you know that for there time the Mayans were the most advanced civilization for star mapping and so on, and then we get to the point that in our current time, there is space shuttles being designed to orbit the moon for long periods of time, as said for touring purposes, but the tickets are an extortionate price and only the rich and famous will be able to buy, why the hell would you want to pay hundreds of thousands to fly round a rock for some months, if you ask me i believe a lot is held back from society, and our world is not as safe as we think, the world as we know it has ended before and there is endless possibility of it happening again, whever from being hit buy a giant space rock, taken over by aliens, or us killing ourselves out by destroying our ozone or nuclear war, the universe is very vast and we know little more than our planet and the planets around it, the only thing i strive for is to live a happy and content life, and if the world ends tomorrow i will go out with a smile on my face, everything comes and goes we just need to accept that and try building for better tomorrow whilst we still got time on our hands :)

End of the worlds scenarios do not have to be religious to be rubbish, if someone wants to make an end of the world hoax they need some kind of backing, religious is just the easiest because religion is not FACT or SCIENCE it is belief/faith. You can't prove or disprove the existence of deities. That being said I consider every apocalypse claim to be a hoax unless I have irrefutable evidence, faith or lack of faith is not evidence. Mayan Calender ending is not evidence, it was made that long and never extended cause they got friggen conquered.

Here is what I consider as evidence for Apocalypse:

Zombies, REAL ZOMBIES or hellhounds outside my window

Red Sky with horsemen of the apocalypse, preferably raining blood

Meteor/Comet approaching earth, like real huge, and preferably visible from earth

Las Vegas collapsing on itself and Yellowstone erupting no less!

Supernova

Loss of Gravitational orbit due to disappearance of the Sun

Super Bug that Actually kills people

Nuclear missiles already in the air

on a Side Note:

I personally consider atheism a religion in itself, a non-theistic religion because it is a belief system and it is not supported by science, but by faith/belief. So when I talk about atheist or atheist seeming comments I refer to it as a religion.

I'm Hasidic Jewish (Orthodox), and yes, Jewish is also a race and religion, Hebrew being the term for the Ancient Jews, so Hebrew isn't incorrect for describing Judaism ;)

Personally, I don't think there is an end of the world set in stone. If there is a G-d that has a time in mind, then it will be fun when it suddenly happens.

The way I see it, it'll happen when it happens. Better live life to the fullest.

Well the sun can't burn for eternity...

I would just like to mention that, if you have a religion then you're religious... 10 people voted for not having a religion, and yet only 5 voted for atheism? Haha. I think probably a lot of members only voted on just one question.

I didnt mean that i actually believed 2012 to be more of a legit reson than religion, i was just pointing this out as another theory, and no theory is proven correct until it happens, although i say im not religous id say im spiritual in a way, if i exist on the terms i believe whats not to say that there is also other greater forces that exist around me, but they should not be ruled out as being almighty and have complete control over the world as we cannot prove them.

@Marked: The question meant to ask if you practice your religion regularly, e.g. Go to church every Sunday or something.
