FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 I know some members are making original games. Have any of you thought about making a Wiki page about your game series? I think it would be a good way of getting your game out there.
Jon Bon 43 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 I have seriously considered this, and am a member of many wikis. It is generally considered bad form to add any information on any wiki topic in which you are official a part of. In other words, you should not be posting information regarding your game, it should be posted by some one else, ideally a fan. People will tend to question the validity of what you posted, is it one sided? Is it true even? This is why wiki and wikia information are generally added by third parties regarding topics. I think the general consensus among wiki contributors is that if something is note worthy enough then it wont need discussing before a page is created, a page will simply be created before anyone can talk about it. Then since its popular the fan base for that thing will ensure the information is true and unbiased. This is of course all in theory and what I believe the wiki community believes. This may just be my opinions but should be something to be aware of if considering creating a page about something you are affiliated with officially. With that said, I would be more then interested in going over someones project/game and helping them compile information about it for a wiki as a third part point of view. They of course would have to be willing to do the same with my own project. This would ensure that both projects are more unbiased then if written by anyone directly involved. Although I believe this may even still be considered shifty by some of the more die hard wiki contributors.

That does sound very interesting and a very good idea any advertisement for your game is good ( This is why I post info. on my 360 profile and other places). Yea your right I'll try your game out sometime and post a full review on a wiki sometime (hopefully tomorrow). I however dont have a new demo that's up and I'm currently trying to fix/ improve all my stuff.

Eventually someone will become a dire hard fan of your game and feel the desire to create a wiki lol. My game has no demo available yet, although I would be willing to trade in the future. It will still be until around July or August before I have a real demo, another month at least before alphas. I appreciate the offer though hehe, definitely in the future. CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 It has right issues as well. Whatever you put up is basically fair game to others unless you bought security before hand :)
