Well, I just found this topic that claims that you can play .avi movies by placing in the ME folder and playing the ME.

I haven't tested it, or if it will work with XP as well but:

http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23326

you could convert the flash video to avi and play that way. I had seen another movie player script (still no flash support) but the writer was asking for 20$ or something for it (and judging by the comments it didn't seem to work very well)

But if you don't mind me asking, is it absolutely necessary to put movies in your game? avi files can take up ridiculous amounts of space, and usually in games I just skip movies (if allowed) and if I can't skip I get bored. Just my personal opinion, but if I wanted to watch a movie I would go to youtube or something...or is it just an intro/ending movie kinda thing? That isn't too bad...but I always hated it when commercial games used excessive amvs (or whatever they were called) I would prefer rich dialogue and story development.

EDIT: When making animations/movies in flash; can you export each frame as a '.png' file? If so you could just display each frame as a picture, changing every frame and mimic a movie...It probably wouldn't solve the size issue TOO much, but it could easily mimic a native movie player (in the game window) as well as easily give the player the option to press a button to skip the movie

Originaly my intention was to make in flash waht i could not make in rpgm, like zooms and handling images and effect. i wante to mix them... cause i want to make a interactive story, but playable also. i wanted to try and use the rpgm system as much as i can, and then when it comes to image handling, use a video showing what i would not be able to do in rpgm... get my idea?

Oh i see! In that sense then movies aren't really a bad idea :P.

However you can adjust the zoom in rpg maker xp...and technically rotation (however through eventing you can only make a picture spin in circles i think, only through scripting can you adjust the rotation to a specific angle)

and unfortunately those options can get laggy :(

otherwise, sorry I am not sure there is a very good solution unless you feel like coughing out $10/$20 for a movie player script (which I think is kinda ridiculous, but I guess the guy put a lot of effort into it....)
