Enrollment

Ok, for starters, I hate trying to keep track of everyone and so forth, so I'll make enrollment simple. You are a level one until you hand in the assignment, once looked over, corrected, and if it needs discussion or anything, talked over, I will bump you up in ranks. This will probably have an immediate effect within 3 days of being submitted.

 

Now, the top says 'Enrollment'. Basically, in so many words, what I jsut said was it is open enrollment, and you can quit whenever. Just be sure to keep a record of all the stuff you learn in this class on your computer. I only have 40GB harddrive (an ancient laptop) so I can't keep track of all of your stuff along with my own.

 

With that said, enjoy the lessons.

a few months late, but I have been scouring the internet looking for RGSS tutorials. I have found many, but none seem to offer an actual course. I would love to finally get those lessons to stick in my head. You could ask me any question about RGSS and ill draw a blank, though ive read (and understood) every(almost) tutorial ive come across... I want to be as proficient with scripting as I am in Eventing (used to work in rm2k3... I built a 4000+ variable data structure to be used in a custom menu and a custom battle system... yes, i built a CMS and CBS in 2k3... but now im such a noob with actually scripting which SEEMS easier, i just cant retain it... but ill give your lessons a shot so I can do a few assignments and whatnot). Im in.

Sorry man Leon is not around much anymore, actually i dont think he will be around anymore.

 

But if you do have any RGSS questions i might be able to help ya out. My specialty with scripting is menus.

Hmm, so Leon's not around anymore...It's a shame, his tutorials are the best!

I've learnt so much over the past week thanks to him, i was just about to 'enroll' but seeing as he's not here much, is there any point?

 

Seriously, i'm insanely grateful to Leon for writing those tutorials, it's opened up a whole new world to rmxp for me!

If you want Leon to come back, then play his game all the way through and post some criticism on it.

"Every time I think I am out, they pull me right back in..." ~ I'm back, due to Kiri's incessive whining (jk) so thank him, everyone. As for the tutorials, I am going to start taking requests soon as to what you guys want an example on how to do. If you actually use the ones I made you as a guideline, and look at how the scripts are written in RmXP, you can actually start writing scripts now.

 

Also, if you guys every come across a guy named Tiberius_XXVII, thank him too. He taught me to script when others *cough*SephirothSpawn*cough* wouldn't.

I wouldn't mind learning more about scripting. Leon is the reason i got into scripting and keep pressing forward. The easiest tutorials i found to follow.

Can you make an easier tutorial on how hashes and (dang what was the other one?) works.

 

I tried the tuts at Creationasylum but they dont give good examples. I want a better way to store data for my scripts instead of using variables.

Arrays and Hashes? I thought i did one on those... hmm...

Apparently Not... damn... thought i did. Well, that is a very important part, arrays and hashes. Very good for storing info, especially in modules. I'll cover that at the same time.

actually RGSS2 is easier to use and different than RGSS. same basic concept, but syntaxes vary. Because of this, you can get an understanding, but you can't do a direct copy of the code.
