really need help

Question

hello, i am flamemaster, i've been working on a game for about half a year now, and somethings gone wrong. when i tell an event to move say: up, down, left, right, and i set it to action button, it works just fine, but if i set it to parralel process, it goes the first direction i specified and just keeps going that way, it doesn't change directions at all! somebody please help me!

Ion the window that you set the movement make sure the repeat action is ticked off, also preferably you should set it to auto run and give the event a condition switch, that is if you don't want it to move on map entry, then when your movement is over if you do not want it to repeat make a new event tab under the same event that has a condition of self switch a, and on your movement page activate that to trigger self switch a when the movement is done, if your giving your movement a condition you can have this as a player touch event that activates the switch when you move into the sircumfrance of the event, make sure every possible entry point to the event is covered by one of these, then on it's second tab it would be blank and be on the condition that the movement is set to active on instead of a self switch, so that all the player touch events that activate the moving event change to a blank event tab, I hope this helps :)

i dont get most of what you said, maybe you misunderstood me, this is a glitch with the whole system, it happens even when i start a new game, what happens is it only goes one direction and keeps going that way forever until it hits something, even if i clearly say, go left!

 

please help me!

I think your problem is that it is a parallel process try setting it to auto run that should fix it, I had a similar problem when I set a rock to unblock a path way via switch, ant the rock continued in the direction set even though I only specified it to move once, I think the parallel is messing it up but auto run is pretty much the same thing

If you want to do it on parallel you can just set it up like this.

The red arrow represents to make sure that is off and also make sure the thing is set to move that certain event.

Note that the player will be able to move doing this if you dont want the player to move you will have to set it to autorun.
