Event Help

Question

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and I have run into a bit of trouble while creating an event on RMXP.

I created an event which was controlled by a switch, I wanted to play a SE of a door opening then have

a character walking up, but when I test it the SE just loops and the character doesn't stop walking forward.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks :]

Please post a picture of your event command.

Also, its looping because you have the event set to autorun or parallel process, both of which loop.

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry about that, this is the event.

How would I make the event run without looping?

I made an event before using autorun and it seemed to be fine.

Turn on a self switch at the end of the event, then make a new event page with that self switch being on as a condition. The new (third) event page should have Action Button as its trigger. (which it will be if you don't touch anything since that is the default.)

BTW to make a door play its opening animation, make do the following:

Set Move Route: Door

turn left

wait 4 frames

turn right

wait 4 frames

turn up

EDIT: Also you probably want to do your event on Autorun so that your player can't move while that happens. =)

I just tryed it, and it worked perfectly.

I was trying to figure it out for some time haha.

Well I guess I learnt something new today.

Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it. :]

Also, thanks for the door tip. The way I thought to do it was by using switches.

This way is a lot better :D

It is pretty awesome. :biggrin_002:

Another quick question if you don't mind.

If I was to make a door, for example; a jail cell door which opens a path into the cell.

Could I make it so that I can walk through the door while it is open?

I only know of ticking the Through box, but then I wouldn't need to open the door

since I would just be able to walk through it. :|

EDIT: Never mind I just found out how. I didn't see the Through On. :P
