Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted July 25, 2011 The human, in the game I'm making, has a combat skill that actually limits his opponent's strength to his perception of them. Meaning he can size up his opponent by looking at them, and that's exactly how strong they will be when he fights them. So, basically, he could be fighting a super demon monster, who happens to looks like a normal guy, and he'd completely win because he thought he was fighting an average person. He is the Brawler type with no perception of "power levels," and attacks opponents without the use of weapons or secret techniques. "Man to Man." He also cannot see or be affected by magic attacks, simply because he doesn't believe in magic.
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 25, 2011 I would call this ability Limitation or Reality Check. Overall I don't like this concept as it overpowers the character.
Bigace360 38 Report post Posted July 26, 2011 For a tv show, maybe. For a video game thats a horrible ideal. As rated said your character would be to overpowered, and just bore the hell out of people.
Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) forgot to mention, he's the final boss. Well, one of the last bosses. He has horribly low stats, but he brings all of your characters down to his level. I like reality check for the name. FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 27, 2011 He is the final boss and he lowers the characters stats. I don't like this idea. Players will be frustrated because they wasted their time leveling up to prepare for the boss.
Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) What's wrong with that? He lowers stats by a set %, if you were too weak to start with, he'd crush you. Most final bosses are insanely easy. I prefer "impossible without a strategy." Like the boss from Runescapes Tzaar Fight Cave (well before all the "awesome" items were added... >.>) Anyway my point is, it doesn't matter to that thing if you have 99 all stats, if your strategy is flawed, it will destroy you (in one hit). FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 28, 2011 So wait a second. Does the final boss kill one character or all characters with one hit at the same time?
Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted July 28, 2011 So wait a second. Does the final boss kill one character or all characters with one hit at the same time? my boss fight or the one in Runescape? My game uses an ABS,so yes, he can kill you in one strike, but you can run away and range him. The one in Runescape, you have prayers that fully protect you from one type of his attacks, magic, or range or melee. The trick is watching is movements and knowing which type of attack he's using, and to switch prayers accordingly.
