Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) Reader, Game Kits is currently undergoing our Pre-Launch and during this pre-launch we will be looking forward to receiving all NEW original works from Contributors. Game Kits is scheduled to be a resource site that offers more than just a few scripts, 2D graphics, and some sound for you to us in your free or commercial games, but instead will also offer items not found anywhere else (over time): Game Kits, Media Kits, Graphics Kits, and Script Kits; to name a few. Its planned to have a verity of resources for almost any game making software. However, this is our Pre-Launch so don't expect to find resources just yet. Right now during this stage we are looking for people to help us fill our library with resources: scripts, 2D graphics, tutorials, event systems, etc. Currently we are setting up for our RPG Maker Beta (more info here) and are looking for Contributors to help us fill our free section with new and never before seen items. If you have any skills in scripting, eventing, mapping, spriting, etc. then we are looking for you (non-paying; Game Kits will make no Profit from your free submitted works and you retain all rights to them). Become a Contributor Contributors are the back bone of Game Kits. You show us your skills in creating something (scripts, graphics, media, etc.), and you will have no problem becoming a Contributor. Our Contributors are required to be active and submit new works every month (fail to do so, and you will be demoted to a basic member). Contributors make no money from their works (except where allowed), but may choose if their works can be used in a free or commercial game. All your submitted works will be under a License written by GK Staff. These licenses are basic usage of your created works (however, your license super seeds our own). Commercial Licenses are available for your free contribution (meaning someone would have to buy a Commercial License to us, it in a commercial game). To Become a Contributor simply register at our forum and send your sample works @ owner@gamekits.org; please expect a 12-24 hr response time (max 48hrs). *Please send all questions to questions@gamekits.org or use our Support Center. *Take note all Contributions sent by e-mail from Contributors are under our EDR (Exclusive Distributing Rights). Meaning you can only post the content you submit on Game Kits and no where else. However if you post it in our Member's Resources forum you are not held by our EDR policy. *Here is one of the benefits of becoming a Contributor! Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted August 1, 2011 Reader, Game kits is proud to announce a new feature available to Contributors (free membership) and Developers (paid membership). You are now given your own Dev Tracker Project sections. From this section you can inform Game Kits' members and guests what you are currently working on. Registered members will be able to post in your Bug section to inform you of any bugs, errors, or issues in your products (scripts, event systems, tutorials, etc). Check it out at: here v/Respectfully, Kage Kazumi

kellessdee 48 Report post Posted August 1, 2011 Can basic members submit contributions as well? I am interested in perhaps contributing script kits in the future, although I don't think I could keep up with one a month. and another question: Do contributions become exclusive to gamekits.org? Anything I release (at this point, since I am currently only making rpg maker releases) will be free to use, and I would want to share with more than just one site. EDIT: I like the website design, looks very professional and well labeled.

Yes they can...however: and another question: Do contributions become exclusive to gamekits.org? Anything I release (at this point, since I am currently only making rpg maker releases) will be free to use, and I would want to share with more than just one site. If you wish to share with more then one site then Game Kits is not for you. However, this question as come up a lot so I'll make a Resource forum where anyone can post their creations and are not held by the Game Kits exclusive distributing rights (so as long as it is posted in the forum and not submitted to Game Kits (via e-mail) you will be able to distribute it on other sites). EDIT: I like the website design, looks very professional and well labeled. Yes; I personally think it's kind of a cheap look. We are currently (in the background) starting on a new site using Joomla which looks far more professional...maybe even to professional. Jon Bon 43 Report post Posted August 2, 2011 I am extremely excited about this idea and contacted and registered immediately. I am now mad at work to create a series of eventing systems. I can understand some peoples hesitation in having their work limited to gamekits.org, however maybe I can ease some tension on that idea. I most definitely plan to subscribe annually as it will allow me to post on more then just gamekits.org, however I only plan to post on my own personal site and gamekits.org, and let me tell you why. I love the idea of exclusive content to one site, this allows for your(my) created content to be unique. Content that is found everyone is awesome too, as everyone will tend to use it if it is good enough because it is easily found. But content that is everywhere also makes finding all content difficult. As we all know from the plethora of websites that have arisen and will arise simple reposting resources found easily on other sites and clogging up the search engine. Gamekits has a unique opportunity to be the 'boutique', if you will, of resource sites. Specializing in unique content that is only featured on gamekits. It may be hard to imagine, but picture in 1 year from now, if all goes to plan, gamekits could be one of few sites most people go to in order to find resources. Rather then it is now, a random google search for resources. If you wanted to make a specific themed game, and you had it all envisioned in your head, where would you start? Either on your favorite resource site, or with google searching, either way at one point or another you would eventually have to start searching for stuff(the average game maker). From what I can tell Gamekits plans to make that obsolete. Instead you can just visit Gamekits and search for resources that fit your theme/idea. The more time that passes and the more content Gamekits has the more realistic this idea becomes. The way it is now, you have to search all the small sites and find lots of duplicated content but no site that has everything needed. It's just a shame no one thought about this years ago, so that all current content could be found on one site. All Gamekits needs now is some content and more will follow. "If you build it, they will come." -Jon Bon P.S. I have no official affiliation with the site or its owners nor do I know them on a personal level, I simply endorse this idea whole heartedly, and hope others can see its true potential. 1 Marked reacted to this

Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted September 18, 2011 Alright I have not forgotten this. So don't count it out as I am currently working on a custom IPB skin to match our Joomla site. I also managed to buy it's own IPB license, IPB Download Manager, and IP Nexsus as well.
