'Vampire' arrest sparks discussion on pop culture

Recommended Posts

Did anyone see this, I was on MSN when I saw this. Appearently some 19 year was pretending he was a vampire, so he broke in some womens house and was going to go suck her blood. :shifty: Orly. I think someone has been reading alittle bit to much vampire stories.

If you haven't seen it, read here then reply back on what you think on the matter.

Someone needs to go to the mental home and jail, because this isn't good. :nono4:

Wow that's just crazy. I cant believe someone would actually do that. Saying he is a 500 year old vampire. Sometimes i wish people would think about it before doing these things.

The problem is not the books and movies. Once again as always its the parents allowing their kids to get into this stuff at a early age that screws them up. By the look of that guy i would guess his parents are the type that don't give a shat.

I agree with Polraudio (again? yeesh). But I would like to add further that everyone is always going to point the finger at something else than what the truth is. And this time, they chose vampires. Pop culture influence? No way, I'll put it short and simply. Crazy will find any outlet it can. If it wasn't vampires, it would have been something else, and they would have placed blame there. Grand Theft Auto repeat, anyone?

Oh I'm not saying it's just the books either, I was just pointing that out. Game, Movies, and books can only influence those that want it to. Obviously we all here have enough common sense to keep are fantasy in are games and head and no use it in real life. And its not always the kids fault, some people are just born stupid and the parents try and try and nothing works. However, then again we don't know his whole life story so it could be his parents probablem for raising him that way or not who knows.

I agree with this. If you play GTA and then go and copy it, you're a nutter in the first place. And in fact you could probably use 'insanity' as a defence against the crime as you didn't think it was morally wrong or against the law (not sure what the US position on insanity is). But then the courts will probably make an order to detain you for mental treatment, or the jury will go against the law and convict you anyway coz they dont want you on the streets.

People are just nutters, they'll always be around no matter what. That's just how the world is. And we need them too, imagine if everyone was educated and motivated in their lives. There would be no jobs and you would need qualifications to work at crappy jobs, etc.

Then again I call my gf bella sometimes.

Well actually if everyone is educated and motivated, wouldn't there be more jobs being created. Theres many fields out there that people can get and if everyone is motivated then the imagination is limitless, I think; MAYBE. :sweatdrop:

been reading alittle bit to much vampire stories.

Not really, there are people out there who really think they are a vampire, werewolf, hybrid (cross of vampire and werewolf), and a variety of other fictional creatures. In fact you can find many sites and message boards of people who claim they are one of the three mentioned above. I found this amusing and joined one of these communities and the owner of the site (who said he was a Hybrid) had rules posted about lying if you where not one of the creatures above there would be consequences. I even read a topic where they talked about killing a banned member (vampire).

People crack me up.

Lol no I really dont think so. I mean there would be more jobs but not enough. But who knows, maybe that would happen. The world needs poor people.

A vampire is merely someone who drinks the blood of another. Hence why you have the vampire bat. If you drink another person's blood, you are technically a vampire. ;)
