I recently bought the first season (later gave it to my mom; not because its bad, but I like Blu Ray) and watched it. I have added it to my favorite TV shows list. Joko 1 Report post Posted August 30, 2011 I used to watch that show when i lived with my parents but never got to finish it or fully understand since i would watch them in a random order 0.0 Last time i watched it, it had something to do with like a split universe and somehow something makes them combine at random times and people will have like arms stickin out of them and faces stuck in the walls and stuff. Even though it was a really top quality program with really nice stages etc they still cut it because they don't like sci-fi.... The only good Stargate was the original series are the others where a waste of time...oh that was funny I needed a laugh. madanchi 18 Report post Posted September 1, 2011 your a typical example of how people don't like change in tv shows, the old series where great, I loved them so did many people, but after many many seasons it ended and then Atlantis took over which was pratically the exact same as sg1 apart from being in Atlantis. Now finally a new different stargate series came out and every body throws a fit and moans sgu was a great series, well thought out episodes, a solid story, high quality props/ effects basically everything that previous stargate series had but bested them Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The series changed so much from it's scheme during the first seasons (which were still great) and developed into this thrilling, well-conceived and character-driven show. But it wouldn't be fair to reduce the show "just" to sci-fi. I don't want to give too much away, but the main theme that they finally revealed during the finale of season two pushed the show and it's concept to a whole new level. I'm still keeping up with it and I'll hope that it'll last a little while longer :) The main plot you are hinting at was in fact the overall premise of the show the entire time, and it was pitched as that originally. The show is made by the lost writers, and if you watched lost until the end, and have watched or know about Once Upon A Time (their new show) then you start to see that the writers are a one trick pony. What I meant was, that they shifted more to heavily mythology and plot focused episodes. Alternating from the early (sometimes) "Monster of the week" episodes. But in comparison with Lost, I think that Fringe is more fast-paced in terms of unraveling mysteries or answering questions regarding the mythology of the show. But I haven't seen Once Upon A Time yet =o Agreed, that's because they keep using the same basic premise and they are getting better and determining what the audience wants as far as story pacing. Once Upon A Time is a story a bout(no spoilers) a fairy tale land that a queen curses and the land and all its characters get turned into our time people. They live in a town called storybrooke, and theyall don't know they were once characters from a far different land. That's more or less the trailers version of what the story is. Below is how they present the story to the viewers: (contains spoilers on fringe and once upon a time) Each episode shows back flashes of the story world so we can find out how everything unraveled and where the curse came from etc, and the same characters play much different roles in the 'real' world(our world) as they live their lives in a town filled with snow white, the seven dwarfs, sleeping beauty, etc. It's like a combination of the premise of Fringe and Lost, dealing with the flashing back between the worlds to tell a story from two sides(Lost), and the whole mirror universe idea(Fringe). It just seems to me that the writers only really have one good idea and they keep trying to jazz it up in different ways, and people are eating it up. Fringe is an excellent show, I definitely enjoy it. None the less, their creative direction seems lacking(similar) when compared to their other bodies of work.
