Reviving the Community YouTube

Hello RMXP Community,

 

How would you guy's feel about trying to make the community's YouTube channel flow again?

Recently Marked and I had talked about trying to bring back the Community YouTube Channel.

I would like to put this in effect. I believe with the proper guidance and help we can revive this channel and

bring out more of the community.

 

Video Section

Forums wise my idea was to make a new sub forum about Videos where users could ask to have their video uploaded,and you the community would vote on it.

The only way this would be possible is if some of you would be willing to submit your own video's to be "polished up with the community intro" and uploaded to the Community Channel.

 

Type of Videos to be Uploaded (But not limited to)

 

 

1. Scripting Tutorials
   
2. Mapping Tutorials
   
3. Eventing Tutorials
   
4. Let's Play's
   
5. Trailers
   
6. Demos
   
7. Announcements
   

 

Currently their is quite a few amazing videos on the community channel like this one.

What i'm Looking For

 

This is almost what i am looking for but after showing it off we should still have a video tutorial since most users aren't going to go to the forums

unless they have to, and doing that doesn't widen our community base. It has to be a baiting system like after showing the preview and video tutorial

then give a link to a clearly written tutorial. Options Is a key when it comes to baiting in.

 

 

The Intro

All Channels need a intro so if you guy's do end up on liking this the first project for the community would be a intro.

All of you guy's could make a intro that you think seems fit for the Community Channel. Then after a certain time period us the community

would vote on which one is best.

 

 

Community Participation

Without you guy's the channel won't be revived. End of Story.

 

 

Video limits

Having to many videos uploaded at once is just plain sloppy,

What i'm thinking of is one or two every two weeks.

This is something though that won't happened for a while and will have to be

well planned out.

 

 

Feedback

Feedback is always a good thing and Kellessdee even proved this below.

Just remember constructive criticism/feedback is always better then

"herpdurp this is lame herpdurp."

Final Words

This is something I really looked forward to, if you guy's really do like my idea please tell me so below. Without you guy's their is no community so

this wouldn't be a community channel if you guys weren't involved. Two of my main goals are to bring out this community, and to bring in new people to add

to the community. With how friendly and nice all of you guy's are once they get settled in they'll never leave.

How do you feel about reviving the community Youtube Channel?

Voted I love the idea. Its a great way to promote the site and increase our following through subscriptions.

 

Would you submit videos?

Voted Maybe. Depends if I have time. Maybe dev videos in the future.

 

Should videos have to be voted on to be uploaded?

Voted No. It should be at the discretion of the people in charge of this project to uphold a quality standard we want to convey.

 

Should all videos be required to have the community intro?

Voted yes. Establishes a sense of brand and professionalism. Not to mention positive reinforcement :dragoninsane:

Also, this is a great idea...I was gonna suggest some more video ideas but you pretty much covered it all. I think you should definitely add reviews in there (which would also tie in PERFECTLY with the fact that we are starting to feature official reviews ;D)

 

and, this would be a good chance to brush up on my presentation and speaking skills (I was actually contemplating earlier today on making video scripting tutorials...although I still need to finish writing my current tutorial haha), that is if you accept the quality of my submissions :shifty:

Thanks i'm not going to lie i rewrote this about three times,

not to mention I spent about ten minutes trying to figure out where to start this.

Also i don't normally care to much about my grammar and punctuation but tried my best to make it as close to perfect as I could. :sweatdrop:

Everyone's support is highly appreciated and especially to Marked for listening to my idea, and giving me the okay to do this.

Without him this probably wouldn't have been brought up and without you guys this can't happen.

Hopefully we get quite a few more votes in by the end of this Weekend.

I really want a wider view of how this could possible turn out

before i say whether i feel i want to do this or not.

I think that this is a great idea, but it seems to kinda have died out? I think the video in marks link would be fine as far as an intro goes just cut off some of it to make it more appropriate and also to shorten it since you don't want to long of a one since there is a limit to the size of each video. However I do think it is a good idea and I know a few members that are still making trailers like kevin and some who are posting demos or updates to them. I myself would be willing to post trailers, demos, and possibly eventing tutorials. I'm going to be free this weekend and it may be the first time I'm free in a long time so if this is still going on I would like to know so maybe I can start something. Thanks.

that's great. but i'm still going to make the video intro as i believe it would be sweet if the community made it. since i personally want it to be focused around the community. Also i'd love it if you got started on making some tutorials.

The idea, it's so interesting. I think it's very good to have our own community youtube channel.
