Give me a few minutes..

EDIT:

Okay I started to do this and then realized it was more complicated than I thought. Don't worry, it's totally doable; just complicated. The complicated part is keeping track of the page the player is on, and managing what page is turned to when the arrow keys are pressed.

You can take a look at what I have so far here:

Hopefully you can get the gist of what I started and finish it yourself.

If not, I'd be happy to do it for you tomorrow. At the moment, it is 1:30 AM, and I'm braindead.

Read the event comments in the common event in the database, and the event in the "book" map.

hi sory for late reply.

I did it but using some cheat i think. heheh

I require the user to choose a direction to navigate: left(previous) or right(next page)

by pressing arrow keys. and then he can start navigating by pressing Enter.

what i did is i tranfer the player in the map (book scene) and trap it in a event where in left the previous page event, at the right the next page event. and to catch the flaw, i also placed an event at the top and bottom of the player's location so that if ever the player press up or down arrow key and press enter, the system will tell him to choose first between left or right. its pretty lame, but its working! :alright:

actually it's for out thesis, an Educational Game for the Life and Works of Jose Rizal (Philippine's National Hero). We successfully passed the thesis project with some minor revision. Thanks for your help! :biggrin_002:

btw, what we need right now is to make the game as an installer. I don't know it yet, i made another topic. feel free to reply their if you have something to share.

thanks again! to everyone...

No no no. Installers suck, and nobody like them. I understand you want it to look professional and stuff, and I used to be like that.

But just no. Don't. The standard RMXP Compression exe is fine.
