Mr.Fiasco 1 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 What class would you would be? I wanna be a Dark Elf like always since Morrowind
ShinyToyGuns 29 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 I do believe you mean "race", but my first character is gonna be a Nord, only because it's SKYRIM, home of the nords! I'll be playing all races eventually, but first one will be a nord
totalsticks 1 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Alright, first I'd be a Nord barbarian/fighter-ish guy, channeling Conan, Beowulf, Buliwyf.. just because.. well, it seems the right thing to do. After my first playthrough is when I go for the wacky/crazy.. Orc Mage ftw. :)
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 I would have to go as a Imperial swordsman with 2-handed weapons, light armor and healing magic.
Chief 30 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 I have mostly always played as a wood elf since Morrowind, but I feel that the land of Skyrim demands something more brutish. I will play as an imperial, because of balances my love of simplicity with strength. Plus, theyre the most regular human-like race, and it helps for immersion. Mr.Fiasco 1 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 Yea I had always played as an dark elf but I think I might actually play as an khajit
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 What is this game about? I've never heard of it.
Mr.Fiasco 1 Report post Posted October 19, 2011 What is this game about? I've never heard of it. WHaaaaa you never heard Skyrim before. Its going to be one of the best RPG games ever. But yea youtube it 1 ShinyToyGuns reacted to this
vincestick 13 Report post Posted October 22, 2011 I am always an Imperial with the basic sword and shield combo, no magic (being a pure mage in past Elder Scrolls games were a little disappointing.) and finally I can put a damn beard on the guy. Any 'magic' I use would mainly be enchanted weapons/armor and maybe a healing spell. Anyone else have this weird enjoyment of waiting until you're the highest level possible and then go back to wearing the lowest/mid tier armor and weapons? I always found strange ways to artificially make games more fun for me.
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted October 23, 2011 Redguard niggah! BATTLE PROFICIENCY!
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 12, 2011 I will be getting this for X-mas on PS3. I'm not sure which I would be, but wood elf seems to fit me perfectly. :) Its a shame it wasn't online, but oh well! 1 ShinyToyGuns reacted to this
vincestick 13 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Well, went with the whole 'Scandinavian' theme of Skyrim and made a Nord. Still on the Sword and Shield combo but I'm looking into focusing on Destruction spells as well...and hell, while I'm at it I might as well join the Companions. Already fought a few dragons (awesome) annnnnnnd got lost while exploring...then preceded to get one-shot by a Giant.
Ecowolfsteen 14 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Been playing as a Nord at first on the PC with mostly sword and shield combo but I went back on the X-Box and made a Redguard. Been using a lot of dual wielding magic or sword and shield with light armor. Fought and killed three dragons. (Friggin epic) Then went exploring and hunting, got mauled by a troll lol. Also been following the main quest mostly. This game is amazing. Buy it now. P.S - Don't touch the Giant's mammoths. 1 ShinyToyGuns reacted to this
Leon 55 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Redguard for me.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Does each race have a set of weapons they can only use, or can each race use whatever? If not, which Elf uses sword? :C
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted November 15, 2011 Any race can use any weapon or armor. The only difference with races is the look and ability's. Once in a while you may run into a place you cant enter unless you are a certain race(or kill).
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 15, 2011 Oh man, sounds awesome! I thought it would restrict weapons and armor to race, glad that's not so. :D *Then I will definitely be a wood elf lol*
Chief 30 Report post Posted November 15, 2011 I started as an Imperial, but once I did the starting fire spell and saw how powerful magic was, I switched to a High Elf, and use my destruction spells to kick arse.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 You can switch races? Or do you mean create a new character...? So guys...my sisters are trying to scare me by saying the game will be terrible and will need to be returned. I'm pretty confident that I will enjoy this game very much, but I was wondering, your reviews? Is the game worth a X-mas gift along side a PS3 320 GB Uncharted 3 Bundle?
Chief 30 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 It is definitely worth getting. I often don't hop on my 360, but I have spent the majority of my free time now, running through the vast landscape of Skyrim. It is quite a magnificent game. 1 ShinyToyGuns reacted to this
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 Thanks, Chief! :D I heard you can get quite lost in the world -- I hope that's true! I love games like that! xD
Dragon324 16 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Yea this game is just simply amazing. Its so huge and there is so much to do xD. I've been spending the last 3 days on just side quests but somehow my list is longer than it was yesterday lol. There is just wow so much 2 do and the possibilities are like endless. I've been going 2 bed at 3AM on school nites because of this game. So yes defiantly get if u can EDIT: Playing as a nord with light armor, basically using a mixture of everything lol Edited November 18, 2011 by Dragon324 1 ShinyToyGuns reacted to this
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 18, 2011 Then I shall keep it on the list! Its a shame it isn't online -- could make all the decision making and beautiful world even better. I hope they patch it in the future or offer a new version that goes online! lol
vincestick 13 Report post Posted November 19, 2011 I hope you don't get overwhelmed easily lol, everyone I talked to gave me a quest of some sort. There's just so much packed in this game, I'm 60 hours in, level 39 and haven't even done the main quest aside from killing my first dragon. I just started pursuing the Dark Brotherhood and through reasons unknown (no spoilers here) I'm a werewolf now. I recently got done doing a Hangover-esque quest and revealed a Vampire conspiracy in a small town.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted November 20, 2011 OH MAN! It sounds so fun! I wish I had it right now. :c
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted January 2, 2012 (Sorry for the double post...I didn't want to create another Skyrim thread) Anyone still playing? I finally sat down to learn the controls. At first I didn't like it, but around Riverrun (?) I started to like it, now I'm hooked. I am a wood elf as well. Kinda creepy face, but oh well. I just defeated my first dragon -- really sad! -- and couldn't find Jarl, so I wondered around, fought some thieves, one green skinned one was too strong so I saved and turned it off. I have a feeling some people here probably slayed more than 5 dragons. :(
vincestick 13 Report post Posted January 2, 2012 I still play. 80 hours in and I still feel like I haven't done anything. I'm a level 72 Nord werewolf melee user. Yeah I have (as well as others most likely) killed a lot of dragons, but just when I need them to unlock shouts I can't find them anywhere lol. My guy is named Ragnar, after Ragnar Lodbrok (He's a (if not the most) legendary Viking in real life) :3 It's quite a transition from Oblivion 'cause It feels like so much has changed, even the controls feel a bit different, but once you start playing more you get used to it. You're actually doing the right thing if you're just running around getting lost - the game is all about exploration. If you get lost, just go with it. The quest markers will always be there in case you need them. Otherwise my advice would be to just pick a direction and go forward. You'll always find something. Guest Report post Posted January 2, 2012 Oh man, sounds awesome! I thought it would restrict weapons and armor to race, glad that's not so. *Then I will definitely be a wood elf lol* Ye wood elves are awesome ^^ I love their racial spell that they can use to control every animal :D (imma try that on one of those mammoths :3 )
RageMage 5 Report post Posted January 2, 2012 I haven't played since I ran out of things to do on my second play through had to re-map a lot of the controls since I was so used to playing Oblivion. It still is a great game but until Skyrim's Creation Kit is released I still prefer Oblivion, hurray for mods. Oh, anyone know anything about release date for creation kit soonest I heard was February even though it's practically finished.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 @UrHappyPlz: Always find something? That is very true from what I've played. xD Caves, monsters, dragons, trolls, wolves, spiders, thieves, elementals (?) and bears. Love this game to death! @mxmmix: Wood Elf then? We need to unite! @RageMage: Creation Kit? Guessin' that's a way to mod? Will it be avalible for PS3?
