Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted June 21, 2007 It may take you two minutes to read this, but if you do not take the time to read this you are one of the people this post is talking about. ____________________________________________________ You stay up for 16 hours He stays up for days on end. ____________________________________________________ You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water. ____________________________________________________ You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward. ____________________________________________________ You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt. ____________________________________________________ You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags. ____________________________________________________ You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again. ____________________________________________________ You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists. ____________________________________________________ You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow. ____________________________________________________ You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He doesn't get to eat today. ____________________________________________________ Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean. ____________________________________________________ You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today. ____________________________________________________ You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes ove r. He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months. ____________________________________________________ You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home. ____________________________________________________ You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume. ____________________________________________________ You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet. ____________________________________________________ You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting. ____________________________________________________ You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him. He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded. ____________________________________________________ You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the broken bodies lying around him. ____________________________________________________ You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger. ____________________________________________________ You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat. ____________________________________________________ You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable. He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long. ____________________________________________________
Ratty524 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 I feel so sorry for the people risking their lives for a war that I doubt is about bringing peace between two social groups. They really should be pulled out, just face it, we should really mind about our OWN country, not those of a Third World hellhole, yet Bush hasn't done anything about that yet... Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 I don't support the war all that much, but I do support the soldiers. Especially since a brothers friend of mine was killed by a bomb. A soldiers funeral, is always the saddest.
Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted June 23, 2007 Is this about Military Life in America? This post does not sound like it supports war at all. But the people you are talking about in this post are every other person not in war... I don't know about that thing it says before the thing. I just copied pasted this from some where else and thought I deleted that. And it is about American soldiers in the Middle East right now. And it's not supporting the war at all. It's supporting the soldiers in the war.
Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 We live and we die. Will you die for you or for others? ---Unknown I leave to join the US Navy. My mother is worried I will get sent off to the war...but only time will tell.
Dark Dragon 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 War-is-bad, what will it take for people to understand that ? the way I see it, is that US soldiers do what they are told, and they cannot help it, they have to obey but I am not with the US government in anyway, Bush messed up, and he messed up big time.. I live in an Arabic country and now most of the people here think bad of Americans, while they are not the people to blame, it's the US government that screwed everything up America has to take her troops out or else Arabs will get really mad, I'm telling ya, I am an Arab, and I'm sick of it, specialy when some Americans (very few) think that they are right, America has no business in Iraq, we don't want their "help" , 4000 people died in a month during the invasion, and now #$%^ing terrorists are up again in Iraq, killing each other. pwease note that when I refer to America I'm talking about the responsible authorizations, not the people and I know most of people in America are against war, but lets hope other Arabs know that
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 I like you Dark Dragon, your the first person to realize it isn't the american people in general. I think our president screwed up by sending soldiers over there.. But I think the soldiers should continue like ordered and train iraqis so they can take care of their own country, and be out of the country before Christmas and not next year like originally planned. Not to long ago, Bush decided to be an asshole and send MORE soldiers into Iraq, he should be starting to pull them all out.
Wyzrd 12 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 Yea most American soldiers don't even like the war but it's your job. You have to do what your told. Yea sometimes they tell you do stupid things but what can you do about it.
Dark Dragon 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 Yea sometimes they tell you do stupid things but what can you do about it. Nothing, thats teh problem, the authority is in the wrong hands, and not only in America, we've got some people who might be even more stupid than Bush, and they proved it xD anyway, enough spamming fer now >_> hey this might be a stupid question, but you rly have to have one once in a while : do they make you go to military training in America ? or is it just an ordinary job like anything else ? Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted June 27, 2007 It's just ordinary job, people usually go in for the experience and the college intuitions. Like all the army commercials say, "Strength for now, strength for later." Or something like that.
