madanchi 18 Report post Posted December 16, 2011 Ok so no images this week, I'm not happy enough with the selection, however I am still going to give everyone an update! First off I'd like to say I'm working on the tiles/ graphics everyday (so far) which is making great progress! Concept work has begun, a new style for the game is being developed still keeping with Lumis' noticeable stylistic approach and animations are a great pain to make... Several rough character designs have begun, deciding on which I like and think suits the game more - It's getting there Been on the search for small unknown composers that spark a talent. I knew releasing an image or two this friday (today) would have been lucky... but so far I'm happy with how it's going, so wish me luck I keep stuck to it! Images should be up next friday, maybe even mid-week some time if I'm happy enough with them.

rgangsta 43 Report post Posted December 17, 2011 This game's graphics are great. They remind me of OutLand on the PS3. I can't wait to see this game in action! Make some vids!
madanchi 18 Report post Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) :3 thank you and I hope to get vids as soon as I get maps fluently playable! Update: Everyone welcome the new born level of Visual Street! A level based on a standard looking street with paths, roads, signs and lights... but with the nature of the Lumis Realm, televisions and flying eyes have invaded this quiet street! Casting deadly creatures, light beams, nightmares into the air from their screens and visions! Be on the lookout... These flying eyes freeze you in motion! As this happens the televisions don't just sit around waiting, some make a mad dash at you in a frenzy to inprison you in their set! The path to escape is a long one... Application form has been added to first post. Edited December 17, 2011 by madanchi
kellessdee 48 Report post Posted December 17, 2011 Out of curiosity, do you have a clear idea of what the gameplay will be like? (Sorry, if you have stated this) Also, do you need any programmers? I notice there doesn't appear to be any, but you haven't requested any (maybe you don't need any yet?) and talk about a custom engine.... WELL what I am trying to say, is I'd love to help with this, in case you need a programmer...I can send you an application for formality if you'd like. madanchi 18 Report post Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) Yes I have an idea of what the gameplay will be like, in fact I've got a few ideas that are quite solid. I know for sure that the gameplay is probably going to change over time - always does with development and one of my main goals is to have a custom engine rather than relying on the rpg maker series. So an answer to your question, is yes, I would love a programmers for a custom engine! I simply hadn't gotten around to propperly requesting programmers because I felt I needed more substance (gameplay graphics/mechanics) before doing so so if your wanting to apply to be a programmer, then do so! kellessdee 48 Report post Posted December 18, 2011 Ah, the woes of game (or any kind for that matter) development. Well, I applied. I do have experience in programming outside of RPG Maker, so I hope I can be helpful to you. Also, if you want help with ideas; I might be able to aid you with that as well, without stepping on your toes of course :)
madanchi 18 Report post Posted December 19, 2011 all ideas are welcomed! and i got your application :)
madanchi 18 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) As I promised, the Friday update is today and so I have fresh stuff to share! Not much I'm afraid but it's something (at least for a weeks work anyway). Before I get started, I'd like tos ay that no updates will be held untill mid-January 2012! This will be noted in the first post. Update: So, this week has been exciting! Two new team members have been accepted into BurningFossil helping work on Lumis One who we all know very well , new character designs have been created in draft form (so nothing amazing), new level designs, marketing ideas and a few other minor details. As the game has just re-opened, anything is subject to heavily change over time, I've currently set down a specific style for Lumis, one which I intend to keep familiar with. 23/12/2011 Images: Compare the two below, the looks changes quite a bit. what do you think? Click for full size This one below is a drastic change in art style! But I adore the intricate details involved, a lot of time spent on it Even though they are only objects and isn't a full piece. Happy Christmas Holidays and all have a good New Year! Cya in mid January Edited December 23, 2011 by madanchi
kellessdee 48 Report post Posted December 24, 2011 :o I'm digging the new detailed work (well, I'm diggin it allll!!). The minimalism/simplicity, balanced with the intricate details adds a new layer of depth to it. KEEP IT UP MADANCHI :D
madanchi 18 Report post Posted December 24, 2011 Thank you very much! Everything is still in early stages, so that's why i'm trying different art approaches
