"Anime" are animated features, or tv episodes. Or, if you were around in the eighties, it would be "Japanimation." It has less action than some others I have seen, but the overall mood of the characters is something I've never seen before. Demondaze 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2007 Sure, no argueing the story's great. But it's great because it's essentialy the classic chinese legend Journey to the East retold with space aliens. Besides that, it's pretty much "evil guy pops up, we barely beat him, rinse, repeat." If you want a deep, involved plotline, watch Outlaw Star, or Shuffle!, or ::shivers:: Inuyasha. EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted January 10, 2007 erm...truthfully, don't get mad at me for this, but I never saw a story in DBZ...there really wasn't one, not when I watched it, anyway...aside from that, to get on topic, I think that Tokyo Mew Mew is a good anime (yes! I know it's a girl show ><). I also enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist (especially the movie to it), and my absolute favorite at current is Eureka seveN. So, in order from most favorite to least-most favorite (if that makes sense): Eureka seveN Tokyo Mew Mew s-CRY-ed Fullmetal Alchemist After that...animes just...don't appeal much to me...only certain things attract my attention, and those 4 animes have those certain things. (And for anyone who says "Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew are almost the same show" I don't believe that...I've heard it said, but I don't believe it...maybe I would if I didn't see the crappy 4kids production...but I HATE sailor moon with a passion) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Ummm...Dragon Ball Z and GT are awesome for their imaginative ability, just like how in Samurai X - It's not like a person can move that fast and stay in the air for five minutes in one single jump! Most TV shows are escapes from reality which brings out the human imaginative feature. I just think that if a show claims to be about martial arts, it might contain more than the basics of one or two styles done at super speed while flying. Gwark 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2010 Hmmm, well I personally am a sucker for anything that has Hayao Miyazaki's name on it (Totoro, Laputa, Mononoke, Nausicaa, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, and even Kiki's Delivery Service. Also, his film of Lupin III was pretty cool too). Of course, I love Akira too, and Ghost in the Shell. There are more I like, but I can't be bothered to list all the titles... However. The hands-down best anime film I have ever seen is Grave of the Fireflies. It's an epic World War 2 drama set in Japan and it's about these two kids who lose everything and have to take care of themselves. And the older brother has to take care of the little sister who doesn't really grasp the full intensity of the situation they are in.
