This tutorial is fairly easy and straight forward. start with the darkest color your going to have, a dark brown, something close to chocolate brown. Moving onto non primary colors, you have to start tweaking all the sliders instead of jstu being able to get away with one like we did with the grasses. Move all of your sliders, sept the black/white, lighter about 80 points each. Grab your pencil tool and pepper the hell out of that chocolate slab. you should end up with soemthing like zis!(image one) Moving right along, slide all the sliders up about 20, repeat. should have something liek image 2. When making the dirt, try to conceal as much of the darest shade as possible, leaving less each time, just dont over do it with the lighter shades to early ^^ Repeat step 2, for step 3!Here is where yuoll be doing soemthign less sporatic. just go through, cover up most of the dark brown so there are only a few dots of it layin around. Should end up with soemthign like image 4 and 5. But Kange, wouldnt it have been faster to choose the slightly lighter and randomly add very few of the darker spots at the end? Yes, yes it would. But my hindsight has always been 20/20. Now this is jsut typical meh dirt. nothin special, something quick and easy to do. For more pertyful dirt, we gotta plan a little better then that. Start with a light dusty color brown, like image 6. Using a dark brown, as in image 7, make shadows all around teh dirt, try to match the tiles sides for tiling consistancy later, where it ends on one side, pick up on the other.generally alot of shadow is good here. image 8. add a few highlights here and there. image 9. keep in mind light source, as it is uneven dirt and those are shadows. Well it didnt come out exactly as i had hoped, but there ya go, with some plany life and some rocks, it will look decent ^^ Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
