Speaking of customizability, the plans are: the homepage is a content portal, any new content will be shown and updated live. However, one of the concepts of GDU is getting relevant content to each member, as relevant is possible. Part of this is the ability to customize what you want showing up on your screen, and thus The dashboard. Your content portal. All relevant content related to your activities on the website, the content you choose, all delivered how you want it to be delivered. That's the concept anyway. This also has live updates. As in if you go away and come back and leave the browser, or you're reading something, you will be notified of new content. I'm planning to use these to communicate dev updates, ideas and discussions for before the release, and then typical usage after the site is live (such as contests, news and events). I really gotta learn this stuff Well, facebook is the only social network I'm on doesn't mean use it like everyone else. I kind of just have it to have and once in a blue moon go on like today. I don't care for twitter and my youtube page is like my facebook page but worse. I guess that's what we're going for at the moment. All the main content sections up in the main menu. I guess things like project cards and one-off type of pages will be linked in the footer. I don't mind letting people in for a quick look, but its really not stable enough to use full time. On top of that, the lack of production in the content areas may be disheartening. Really there is very little to see at the moment, but the forums appear to be almost fully functional since I'm using GDU full time now to post. Your personality suits being a tester. So if you want, you can be one of the first members to use it full time so you can complain to me all you want about whats not working. Glad you like it :) I've some time to think of the concepts, I started writing ideas down in a notebook at the end of 2010, and thats when I first started the design too. I really want to get the project cards done, but I really have to focus on the more essential parts first coz its gona be an absolute mission just to get it live. Marked! That and one damn good integration system. Refer to the following diagram: This is the progress of GDU so far. Here's my priority list (unordered even though i ordered them): (essential before going live) Homepage profile settings dashboard tutorials scripts gallery (I want to write my own for many reasons) chat (not essential before going live) chat bookmarks games engines audio jobs Thats probably several hundred hours of coding and I duno where I'm going to get that time. I guess if I prioritize properly and just make time I can get through it. I wanted to give myself enough time, and since the site turns 6 in may, releasing it on that milestone seems fitting. All the posts are staying and you can still talk about RMXP/VX. The only difference will be is that we will support all game makers instead of only VX and XP.
