ShinGamix 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 I was really looking forward to gnu. I watched the countdown religiously. So how long is it pushed back for?
Marked 197 Report post Posted July 2, 2012 Just until as long as it takes. I got back into it yesterday. There's a few functional things I need to get fixed, and the rest is on design. Would it be helpful if I had thing where you type in your email address and you get an email once its ready? 1 ShinGamix reacted to this

Would it be helpful if I had thing where you type in your email address and you get an email once its ready? I think that's a solid idea if it doesn't take ya too long to get working and what not. Would be good to post on the GDU facebook page to let members know they can be put on a 'mailing list' type thing. 1 ShinGamix reacted to this
ShinGamix 1 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 So when Gnu is opened does that mean no more xpunlimited? ie will these forums close or will they still have a chance to live on their own?

Would be good to post on the GDU facebook page to let members know they can be put on a 'mailing list' type thing. I think I can use a 3rd party thing for the mailing list so shouldn't be too hard. So when Gnu is opened does that mean no more xpunlimited? ie will these forums close or will they still have a chance to live on their own? That question is asked a lot. GDU is RMXPU. GDU is a new design and a new system with integrates perfectly with the forums allowing for seamless expansion. The 2 use the same database so that when we switch over there won't be any downtime. Everyone could use GDU right now if I altered the permissions, but it's not ready. For example (Note: the following image is slightly different from the GDU that will go live): 2 isaacsol and ShinGamix reacted to this
ShinGamix 1 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) I didn't realize that the database for both the forums are the same. So basically GDU is an upgrade and a new url essentially? Well roll out the red carpet then and we will all move together! Edit-Yippie I am in the pic!! Edited July 4, 2012 by ShinGamix
Marked 197 Report post Posted July 4, 2012 Pretty much, the switch over is a flick of the switch. I suppose its like an upgrade. It's more like removing all the clutter and content disorganization that comes with the current joomla cms website. The important difference is that it combines seamless member account and design integration into a single package. This allows for our goals which you will find in a previous announcment. ShinGamix 1 Report post Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) Just saw the new facebook header on the gdu facebook page. It looks awesome. I am quite jealous I didn't think of that first. I see what you mean by branding. Very stylish and nice. Mad props. I really like the skills levels for the makers on the gnu profile. It is almost like an online portfolio and resume. Since you have jobs this will come in handy there. click on these to go to the gnu facebook page Edited July 4, 2012 by ShinGamix
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 Oh man, the teases! The teases! T.T I love the headers! They look so professional, and awesome! Like it really belongs on a gaming/game making forum! Well, whenever we can go to the new version of the site, I will be happy! I'll keep an eye out!
