Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted January 29, 2012 Reader, So if your old enough have you filed your taxes yet? I just did mine today and I'm getting $879.15 back this year ($829 fed and $50 state). I'm going to use it to buy myself a "Sony BRAVIA KDL40EX720 40-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV." Right now I have a 22" Weston LCD Monitor so it will be a nice upgrade for my PS3-3D ready game system. I can't wait! Have you filed your taxes yet and if so what do you plan on using the money for; also what is the most you have received from Tax Returns (for me it was $1,100 for my 2010 return)? v/Respectfully, Noob Saibot

Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted January 29, 2012 50 bucks from my 09 return....first year of work, I think the lowest I have ever received was $403 (fed) and $28 (state).
Marked 197 Report post Posted January 29, 2012 itl go to things liek gas, insurance and tuition...*sigh* i want some paly money.. stupid life... Agreed. I've been trying to save money this summer (tis summer down here), and I got a $200 fine parked on a residential street. Such bullshit. So I pay that fine one morning before going to the hospital to visit a family who just got admitted (you may remember a certain anger status bout this) and it was exactly 1.5 hours since I payed my last $200 fine that I got another. This sums to $400. I think proceed to get a warrant ($40) and a year's worth of registration ($280). So my car has host $720, MINUS the hundreds of dollars of petrol I have to use due to where I live. On top of that, I payed $1,500 for advanced rent. And this year I need 3 textbooks for my first semester of uni, all over $100 each. Being a student is shit. We get tax back here too, but you gotta sign up and go through all this crap.. I really just can't be bothered with the process. I mean i know its like free money (if you stfu and accept tax is part of life). I wonder how much I would have though.. I've been working for 4/5 years now. Sorry for the language and typos.. im super tired atm
Kange 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2012 dude, if you can get all that cash, doing it once every 5 years might be awesome! on the flip side, you might have owed money over the past 5 years and is currently being hunted by your government...might wanna look into taht. i remember the rage status..and i have a sudden craving for buttered bread. but not..toast..jstu bread and butter. shall return!*goes to the kitchen*

So I do know you can file up to two years (from current date), but not sure if it goes further then that (USA). EDIT I think the last sentence makes no sense, but I'm to lazy to type what I actually meant. Edited January 29, 2012 by Noob Saibot

Marked 197 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 ....so what do yall think would be a good first car if i can find a decent used one of that car? ....im thinkin truck. Nissan Bluebird Yup I'm a New Zealander and our tax system is different. I don't think its possible they govt. would come after me for tax lol my employers have been paying proper tax, so... There was however like a 3 month window where I was getting 2 sources of income and apparently I was supposed to pay a higher tax on the 2nd source. But meh. I feel like I should get $200 of tax back for getting a fine at the hospital. The first one was legit but the 2nd one was the major bullshit. I payed money to park there and still got a fine.. it will be some time before i get over this -nods-

Polraudio 122 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 I dont get taxes back this year because i didnt have a job. I usually get about $300 back every year + an extra $1000 just for being a student. Wonder if i can still claim the $1000 for being a student? I could really use it for food.
