Kange 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 This goes along with my arcade topic no one seems to be interested in at all -.-...Anyways, my friend is really thinkin about backing out. Granted, its a huuuge risk but there are alot of draws to this besides just an arcade. Do you think having your own company and chasing a dream is worth risking everything for? credit, money, i mean everything?
ForeverZer0 44 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 I think as long as the end goal is something realistically achievable, then "yes", the keyword being "realistically". Sure many have beat long odds and came out on top, and there are movies made and books written about them, but it is important to remember this is because they beat the long odds, more often than not, people go down in flames trying to beat these odds. This does not mean that one should not take a step out on faith and try something if it is important to them, but it does mean that in needs to be rooted in logic and have a well thought-out plan to attain it. Kange 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 well again, its not just an arcade, but yes its wellthought out, or at least im workin on it. im not jsut jumping head long into it. Currently i am working on each section of the business plan for each section of the company. Also, i ahve two locations picked out right now, and i am working on a survey to put out as much as i can within 5 mile radius of each area to collect data on the best location and to turn teh data into a score office to see what the odds of success are in each area. But ya..idk..
Marked 197 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 Yeah I agree with ForeverZero. Not much more to say.. if you think this arcade thing is achievable. Arn't those things dead though? The kids who play them are too busy with their PS3's and whatnot, arn't they? I mean, I remember when they used to make games, when I started this forum Just make sure demand is high enough. I imagine this games require a very large investment.
Kange 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 the games as is so far, i have em all lined up, come out to 66,600 dollars alone, but its a multi business. It will be a game shope/arcade/juice bar. and its going ot be a penny arcade. The goal is cheap fun for families. Kids can go play games while the younger parents buy games or they use the computers, also a good place for teens to hang out as we will also have some t.v.s where people can bring their systems, hook up, and play with friends. I know i wont become a millionaire off it, but thats not my goal. Its something i really wanna do and its something society is really lacking in... Im not in it to make money, but kinda help the community in a way. plus its insanely fun :D but ya, im planning it out the best i can, and i wont jsut jump into it, again, surveys. But one of the locations is in midtown Tulsa, really close to north tulsa where crime is high. I think by openin a place like this where people can go and do stuff for really cheap will help stamp out some of it, plus bring business back to the area. History lesson :D Back in the 20s and 30s it was a huge black business district and then the Tulsa race riots happened and all that fun stuff. Well the busniesses started moving away form the black community in north tulsa, down to south tulsa and crime went through the roof. Theres an area called the Pearl District that is kinda dead, but theres a beautiful, gorgeous park right there and at night its just amazing :D i think it would be cool to bring some business to that area and bring crime rates down, or at least try.. or get robbed... RageMage 5 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 Wow, that sounds pretty cool, yeah I think that it would be worth it. No point in giving up on a dream and living with that feeling of "what if", I hate that feeling. I think it would be better to try and fail atleast then you could say you gave it you're best shot. On the other hand running a business like this would be expensive to start up, it would also mean failure would hurt, it is a business of course, no breaking even isn't success (it's not failure either). So if it were me I would go for it, I've got nothing to lose other than pride (wait I already lost that, might have dropped it in the yard). Only one question for you... Taking investors? Kange 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2012 imm not sure if i am or not. it really depends...i knwo the games alone cost 66600 to buy, plus 50 a piece for registration, buying the property, starting the juice bar, the computers, the t.v.s the products for the bar, all the furnature, etc...im looking at 150-200k, b4 buying land an dproperty, which, i might start by renting, not sure yet. it relaly feels like a one shot thing and while iw ant to do it, the only thing is, this is my credit im playing with. if this went down the drain, how would i make such large payments? id have killed any chance at a decent life later. or at least a somewhat easier one \
