Kzar 1 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 (edited) STORY: 2000 years ago, a band of heroes banished a demon to the Otherworld. This beast was called the Celestial Beast as it came from a distant planet to devour this world. In order to seal the Beast, four cities built gates to the Otherworld and locked the Beast inside. If anyone was to ever reawaken this demon, they would need to open each of the four gates. Each cityhas guarded the gates with insuperable determination. About 30 years ago, a war started. Archea on one side, and Reel, Parma, and Kelm in the other. Ironically, these were the four cities that built the Gate 2000 years before. One day when Efram, the main character, was about 13, Archea invaded Reel and started murdering innocent citizens. Efram's parents were killed in the process. Efram was so enraged, he immediately took his father's sword and started to teach himself how to fight. At 17, he joined the army to avenge his parents. He was put in a multifarious squad, both in combat skills and in personality. They quickly became friends and had a special bond with each other. After the war ended, he received many awards for his bravery and straight-up combat ability and promoted to General. He was then taken out of his squad and put in an elite team to defend the Celestial Gate as they have for the last 2000 years. 2 years later and Efram is still defending the Gate with 4 others who preformed outstandingly in the war. One day while reminiscing about the war, some slimes and knights attack Efram and company. This is when the quest to re-seal the Celestial beast begins... LORE MAGIC LORE: Magic in the world of SoA is a very in-depth (and maybe confusing) subject. It is heavily based on heredity. If both parents are mages, you are a mage, if both parents are clerics, you are a cleric, if you are mixed blood (One mage, one cleric) you inherit the magical abilities of your mother. If you are half-blood (one mage/cleric, one non-magic) you inherit the abilities of the magic-user, but at a lower extent and become known as a "Half-Mage/Cleric." Half-Mages/Clerics cannot have children with magical abilities unless the other parent is a full-mage/cleric and the child inherits the abilities of the full-mage/cleric despite whether it is the father or mother. There are two sects of magic; Healing (Blue) and Offensive (Red). Red magic consists of the 8 elements, Fire, Thunder, Earth, Light, Dark, Wind, Water and Ice. There 8 elements are split into two groups, Warm and Cool elements. WARM: Fire Thunder Earth Light COOL: Dark Wind Water Ice They are also split into Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Magics based on difficulty to learn. Primary: Fire, Ice, Thunder Secondary: Water, Wind, Earth Tertiary: Light, Dark Blue magic is a LOT simpler. There are Healing Magics, and Enhancement Magics. Healing magics heal and remove status ailments, and enhancement magics increase stats (like ATK, DEF etc.). There is no confusing charts and element splits for Blue magic. =D Like I said, its a confusing subject, that is why only the smartest of people can utilize its power fully. DRUIDIC MAGIC LORE: Frey Kyza, Mage, discovered how to know both Red and Blue magic through blood transfusion (because magic abilities run in the person's blood). Green, Sealing, Magics was a side-effect. Sealing Magics can seal an enemies physical or magical abilities and render him useless (Silence, DEF -, ATK - for example). Through experimentation, he discovered that Druidic blood (Druid was the name he gave people who had Red, Blue and Green magics), overpowered all other bloods (including non-magic) if one parent was a Druid, the child would be a Druid, no matter what. Frey desired eternal life, and discovered how to transfer his soul into someone else's body. Thus, he can live forever. He changes his name each time he transfers to protect his identity, nobody know who "Frey" is anymore because of it. (Assuming he still lives, that is) CLASSES So far, I have some classes in mind, but no real definition. Anyways, here are my classes so far. Swordsman - Wields swords, Efram gets magic, others do not. GreatSwordsman - Greatswords have much higher attack than regular swords, they have high HP and DEF, but low AGI. best used as a tank. Thief - Wield knives. They have dark elemental magic and haste to increase AGI. Warrior - Wield Axes. They have high ATK, but low DEF. Best used up front. Soldier - Wield Lances and Spears. They have high HP and DEF. Best used as a line of defense Archer - Wield bows. Not much to be said here. Use behind other units for best results. Cleric- Wield Staves and maces. They learn healing magic. VERY low ATK and DEF. Mage - Wield Staves and maces. they learn offensive magic. Slightly higher ATK and DEF than a cleric, but just slightly. Summoner - Can summon elemental summons. Wield Staves and Maces. Necromancer - Can summon undead creatures. Wields maces. Monk - Wield Gloves. There is one monk in the game (besides Blane who is sort of a "dummy" character) she has low level healing magic. Berserker - Wields Axes. VERY VERY low defense but INSANE ATK. He's a berserker what do you expect? Mastermage - Wield staves. Low HP, ATK, DEF and MP. However, he knows every spell from the start. Archmage - Wields Swords, Staves and maces. learn powerful healing and offensive magic. Sage - Wields Staves and Maces, learns only Hi-level magic. Low ATK and DEF Dragoon - Wield Spears and Lances. (Slightly different from common Dragoons. Dragoons are an ancient and nearly extinct race of people who can command Dragons.) Samurai - Wield swords. Only class that can wield Katana. Has few skills, but they are powerful Ninja - Wields swords, knives, grenades, bows and gloves. Learn similar skills Thief learn Bard - Wields guitars. Plays music to fight enemies CHARACTERS Please refer to the MAGIC LORE section when reading about Primary, Secondary, Tertiary magics and Warm and Cool magic (it is all explained there) Efram Rainhardt - Swordsman Efram is a very talented swordsman that can use both healing and offensive magic as his mother was a mage and his father was a cleric. Learns mostly Warm magics Higgins - Archer Higgins is a very patient person. He is used to waiting for the right moment to shoot. His brother, Jake, left after the war to live in Parma. Higgins and Jake still keep in touch as Parma is not too far away from Reel. Allen - Warrior Allen is a very sarcastic person. Though he may look girly, he's a very manly man not afraid to get dirty in battle. Aaron - Soldier Aaron is a very carefree person who does thing very lackadaisically. Him and Efram don't get along very well because Aaron tends to ignore Efram's advice, however, he NEVER ignores Efram's orders. Ezra - Thief Ezra is very agile and limber. He can easily dodge enemy's attacks. He can steal from enemies and poach them for loot. Learns only Cool magics Chris - Cleric Chris is a pretty passive guy. He is not very emotionally moved by anything. Roryk - GreatSwordsman Roryk is a very tough man. He is brutally honest and has insane determination. He may seem like a harsh, mean person but he's really just trying to keep his buddies alive. Jake - Mage Jake is a like a hyperactive 5 year old. He does not often shut up and rambles a lot. Learns only Primary Magics Ed - Bard Ed is a rebelious spirit and non-conformist. He dresses wierd, talks wierd and his skills are wierd. As a musician, he views war at a different angle. Warriors view it as "Live or Die" while Ed views it as a way to explore the world and gain knowledge. Chad - Warrior Chad joins the party after you charge the 2nd Gate in Parma. He was in the 99th squad durring the Archean War. The 99th squad is the home of many elite warriors, only THE BEST even get considered entry to that squad. Needless to say, neither Efram nor even Roryk were even considered entry to squad 99. Chad is only one from squad 99 in good, fighting condition. Gerald - MasterMage Gerald is a frumpy old man about 70 years old. He's been studying magic since he was 7 (long time). As a mastermage, he wields magic (like in Fire Emblem). He learns all the skills he gets at level 1 since it is implied that he already knows all the magic he can. Learns ALL magics Georgia - Summoner Georgia is a powerful mage who can summon elemental spirits. Though she is only a child, she contains great potential as a summoner and has fairly high MP. Learns Summoning Magics Alex - Necromancer Alex is a little 10-year old who is very phyically weak. Despite having little muscle of his own, he can summon undead creatures to fight for him. Necromancy has become a unofficial taboo all over the world, and as a Necromancer gets refused services outside of the Island boecause he is a Necromancer. Theo - Sage Theo is your stereotypical middle schooller. He is very cocky about everything he's done and thinks he is the best at everything. As a Sage the magic he learns is much more powerful that the magic that regular mages learn. Learns high level magics. (Conflagration, Freeze, Bolting opposed to Blaze, Blizzard and Thunder) *NOTE* You need to choose between Georgia, Alex and Theo. Only 1 can join your party. Amos - Mage Amos is Roryk's wife living in Ebern. She is a very kind-hearted woman and yells at Roryk when he is harsh to his comrades, and Roryk submits (because the wife is always right XD) Learns Cool and Secondary Magics Micah - Archer Micah is Roryk's and Amos' child. (He has red-hair while Roryk and Amos both have black, it's still technically possible though. Red hair is a ressesive gene and black hair is dominant. So both Roryk and Amos could have a black hair gene and red hair gene (Bb) and still have Micah with red (bb). It's genetics, if you don't know genetics, look it up or wait untill Highschool biology XD). Micah does not talk very much and keeps to himself a lot. While training with Roryk as a child, he discovered that he did not have much physical endurance, and thus chose to train in the bow, instead of the sword (despite Roryk's wishes). Learns Primary Magics Erika - Archmage Erika is Efram's sister. She lives in Ebern with her husband, Paul. (who doesnt join the party, but stays in Ebern). She also knows healing and offensive magic (same reason Efram can), and wields swords along with staves and maces. She can be used as a warrior or a mage (player's choice). She is a bit clingy to Efram and doesn't know a whole bunch about war and its horrors and is a bit naive. Learns most magics Tysandar - Dragoon Tysandar is the last of the Dragoons, a legendary race that can command Dragons. In their hay-day, they would ride into battle on their Dragon and both the Dragon and Dragoon would fight. Dragon would spray flames and the Dragoon would stab the enemy with their spear. There was a war between the Dragoons and another extinct race called the Dwemers. The Dwemers viewed the Dragoons as evil and were bent on destroying them. They built a cannon that destroy both the Dragoons and the Dwemers. (Dwemers were a race that buit things a lot, like Dwarves). After hearing this, Tysandar fled as far as he could in hopes of surviving. Now, he is last Dragoon in existance. He is a very serious person and doesn't laugh. He tells everything the way it is and doesn't sugar-coat it. Maarten - Berserker After the Archean War, Maarten became the sole hier to the Ebernian throne. However, the King's brother wanted the throne. So, the King's brother killed the King and framed Maarten for it. He was immediatly exiled and stripped of his title "Prince." He left to live a lowly life in Kelm, a nearby city near a large moutain range. He joins in the hopes that the King's brother was corupted by the Archeans and when this is revealed to the Ebernians, maybe he will be able to become King. Daniel - Swordman Daniel is the leader of the ARF (Archean Rebel Force). The ARF consistes of Archeans who are against the way the Archeans are acting. Most ARF members have been executed by the Archeans for treason because they stayed in Archea. Daniel and his close friends, Ilia, Vash and Sera, left Archea and moved to live in Olan to plan their assault on Archea. Daniel is a very pushy and risk-taking person. He and Efram don't get along very well because Daniel is used to being the leader but is pushed down by Efram and Roryk. Eventually, he learns to deal with not bossing everyone around and learns how to take orders from a superior. Ilia - Monk Ilia is Daniel's childhood friend. She is the tactical advisor in ARF and is very tactically smart. She is also very physically strong and uses magic as her parents were both clerics. Learns basic healing magics. Sera - Cleric (BIO TO COME) Vash - Greatswordman Part of ARF. (REST OF BIO TO COME) Musashi - Samurai Musashi is a strange little man who does not talk about his past. Little is know about him. Dallur - Greatswordman (BIO TO COME) Freyr - Swordman (BIO TO COME) Renjiro - Ninja Renjiro was raised in Archea and grew a certain hatred for the other main cities (Reel, Parma, Ebern) but when the King of Archea started the Archean War, he realized that Archea was in the wrong. Since then, he's been part of the Archean Rebel Force acting as a spy feeding information to Daniel about Archea's troop movements. Fredrik Conrad Alamantia - Hero Fredrik is the legendary hero who sealed the Celestial Beast 2000 years ago. He wields the Sword of Alamantia when he joins and knows forgotten magics (Eruption, Ice Age, Spark) WORLD This is a pretty basic World Map. None of these maps are connected except the Archean Continent and the one directly below it (that looks like a giant desert). There is also an island in the middle that is not included here (because it is still being mapped). Once I finish mapping it I will include it. SCREENSHOTS Faceset. This is the first floor of the first official dungeon in Chapter 2 (and the game so far to be exact) These are Chapter Intro things for Chapter 2. Purple is going to be used, but I kept the others in there because A) Im too lazy to make a new picture with just the purple and B) So you can see the other ones. Zombie ninjaz?!?!
