Legend of Zelda: Worlds Collide

Recommended Posts

Knights Creations is seeking anyone who wishes to help work on the game "Legend of Zelda: Worlds Collide".

Story

It's been a year since the awakening of Princess Zelda. Hyrule has had troubled times while the Order of Wizrobes continues to attempt to capture Link for their dark ritual of resurrecting their master, the Evil Wizard Ganon. Times have grown desperate, and it seems the Order has no choice. Their army collects together in one location in a hope to launch one final assault on the castle and take Link. However, Zelda, now Queen of Hyrule, has forseen this. She sends Link deep into the Underworld to stop them before they can create an unstoppable army. However, things are not as they seem. Shadow Link appears and tries to destroy Link once and for all. However, at the last moment, Link vanishes and Shadow Link swears he will search for Link.

Link appears deep within Limbo, the Realm Between Dimensions. There a small sprite named Lucia explains that an evil force is trying to conquer all worlds. It is up to Link to stop this evil force, but he cannot do it alone. Link and Lucia head off to the Mushroom Kingdom to seek the aid of Mario. Together, the two should be able to stop and defeat the forces of evil once and for all.

(Storyline is still in development at this point, but it is planned for Link to also visit the Pokemon World and then return to Hyrule before facing against the final boss. However, I would like to include some other worlds such as Kirby, Mega Man, Sonic, and others like that which I need spriters and what not for)

Spots needed

Spriters - People who can make tilesets, minkoff battlers, and character sets

A scripter to fix a couple script glitches

Artists - People who can draw backgrounds for the battle system and face graphics for the game

Voice actors - Mostly female voices, but a few male voices are planned, just not ready to be auditioned for yet

May I ask which engine you are using? I am making some Zelda sprites for another project that may suit your needs. I have yet to try working with minkoff stuff, but I would be interested in trying for this project, if it is still needed. I look forward to hearing back.

Awesome, I thought so, but had to be sure. The Zelda sprites I am editing are to fit in an RMXP type size, ~32x48, If you want to take a look at the enemies I have, Zelda is there too, I would be happy to try and make some into Minkoffs for your game. I figure if you like the way the look is going, you can request which ever characters or enemies you need made into a Minkoff. In other words, if you're interesed I would love to do some sprite work for your project.

That's actually pretty cool. I can't really say much for any of the ALttP characters, but what I could really use are Daira and Stalfos from Zelda 2. For that matter, any Zelda 2 enemy you could make into a minkoff (I would need character set as well) would be very helpful. I'm mostly looking for the slimes, the Daira, and the Stalfos right now. I'm mostly in need of non-Zelda sprites, though lol

Sounds good to me, I wanted to hit some of those up, the Daira specifically I wanted to include in my game, so when the time comes I will make sure to start with those ones.

I haven't done any work with minkoff sheets yet, but I am familiar with it, and have done a bit of research. I will try with the Daira and see what I come up with making both the standard and minkoff sheets.

Here is something I did today as a test to see what a Daira would look like in my/the rmxp style. Let me know what you think.

Daira%20Concept.png

Just one frame, one side, no weapon or tail yet, but a good idea of what it will look like when I am finished, let me know if it'll match with your game etc.

Looks good, but seems a little big...my standard battler is 64x64 in size, and half the time, they're not even that tall. For example, Link's idle pose is actually only 27x42 in size. Meanwhile, the Daira there is 33x65 in size. It looks pretty cool, though. I could probably use it if I could redo the other sprites in the game...problem is, Mario and Luigi are even smaller then my current Link sprite...so not changing all the sprites would be a bit out of place.

Understood. I should have asked first, it's all good anyhow I'll need that size for my game.

To be honest, now that I look at your numbers, let's break it down here. If link is 27 pix wide, how much 'bigger' would the Daira be? If you see here, a comic photo, you'll notice link just off frame to the right, and he is roughly 4/5 the size of the alligator main aka Daira. So what are we thinking for an end result, maybe a 30x50? This would be super easy to edit him smaller, but if I have parameters before hand it'll help. If you have any way to show me some of the stuff you are current working with, I would be more than happy to match it accordingly. If you want, we can also work together to figure out a standard size and basic comparison to each other sprite and rework the sprites as needed. I am totally willing to help with this, so let me know what you think, or how you need/want to proceed with the size etc.

As an example, I think mario and luigi are in fact shorter than link, but only adult link, I think smash brothers would be a good game to consult for size comparisons.

Hmm, makes sense. This would probably be a whole heck of a lot easier if we could talk off site, cause this is probably gonna be a lot of back and forth information. Do you have Skype? That's what I use for instant messaging and file sending and such.

Agreed it'll likely yield faster and more accurate results if we can back and forth. I do have and actively use Skype, I have however been keeping it off recently, as my friends all have more time now and want to play video games where I would rather make them. Anyhow, my name is jonbonium on Skype, feel free to add me. I'll stay logged in and visible, but go to away status so no one else harasses me. I look forward to seeing where the direction on these sprites goes.
