PC Gamers

Recommended Posts

Any PC gamers here on RMXPU? Not talking about playing RM games, but the traditional gaming on a powerful desktop rig. I am a console gamer but I rather go PC next gen. PC gaming is looking so appealing to me and the games I love the most play much better on a PC, say Skyrim and Dragon Age Origins. Also looking forward to playing The Witcher 2, Tochlight 2, Diablo III, etc. I think I will not bother with the next generation consoles early on. Wii U...maybe, but I'll have to see how Nintendo pulls that one. Their Wii could have been much better, but instead we got a saturated market of crappy shovelware "games." Their 3DS is a worthwile system, though.

Anyway I have some of the parts picked out and having a little difficulty shopping for a case. Any case brands or models you would recommend? I might be interested in this one from Cooler Master: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196

I prefer red lighting over blue as red is my favorite color. As for components, ASUS for the mobo, Intel for CPU, nVidia 690GTX for graphics, Antec for the PSU and Corsair for RAM (8 or even 16GB of RAM). Also I am a fan of Western Digital for hard drives and would likely throw in a WD Solid State Drive as well to store certain intensive games for ultra-fast loading times and performance.

Not only will this computer be used for gaming, but to render 3D models and virtualizing. Quite possibly creating models and textures for games. I have spoken with Kiriashi about this long ago but since the next gen is approaching it's pretty much time to get a PC. I am expected to pay well over 1,000 for this computer but I think it'll be worth it.

Ok i can help. I built my own computer from newegg and build them all the time. You wont notice to much of a difference with an SSD. I would save your money till SSD's are about the same price as normal mechanical HDD's.

Whats your max money limit? If i know your max limit i will put together a wishlist on newegg with parts for what you want it for.

Let's try $1,500. Don't really want to exceed 2,000 if I don't need to as I am definitly not rich. :P

Assuming the nVidia 690GTX will be the most expensive component coupled with a good Intel CPU it could be difficult to squeeze that into a $1,500 budget. Give or take a couple hundred though.

But whatever, again, games on PC can be cheaper and have more frequent sales on Steam than retail console games.

Ok. I will make a list of everything on newegg first thing in the morning after class biggrin.png. With $1,500 i can make a very beastly computer. Might go a little high on the PSU to leave room for future upgrades.

Thanks, man. Yeah I assume you would want a 850-1,000 Watt PSU for a gaming rig. Finding ways to future-proof your machine is the way to go.

Looking forward to PC gaming and playing Diablo III, Torchlight II, Dragon Age Origins, Skyrim, Morrowind, Witcher 1 & 2, Battlefield 3, Team Fortress 2, Total War Shogun 2, a choice of a good MMORPG, and a bunch of indies. Getting sick of gaming on consoles. It feels good to play games on a desk with a keyboard and mouse.

All 600 series cards are out of stock so i found you a good 2gb 560 card. My cards are 460's and they run any game near max so far. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814127608

Do you have a monitor that supports HDMI?

PM me your email so i can send you the list of parts since i cant make it public for some reason.

Your price is $1,324.92. It will last you a very long time.

...Nothing, not even in the junk mail. Ugh. And there is nothing that explains why something as simple as this is not working.

Hey, looks good. Thanks for the help! Yeah, $1325 for a gaming computer is very good. Back in the day PC gaming used to cost more. PC gaming is cheaper than ever before nowadays.
