Question: Skill only used when enemy is in specific state?

Question

I take it this is where questions concerning RPG Maker VX Ace can be made, so yeah.

I just recently decided to try out RPG Maker VX Ace, after a long period of time of not even touching Enterbrain's RPGMakers. I find myself enjoying the new maker and while developing enemies, an issue arose as well as a question. Now I'm not too familiar with the engine so much anymore, so forgive me if the solution is quite simple.

My question is: Is it possible to to make an enemy capable of using a specific skill ONLY when an actor on the opposing team is under a specific state?

An example that comes to mind for a possibly more clearer presentation is "Dream Eater" from Pokemon. In the Pokemon games, the attack 'Dream Eater' could ONLY be used when the opposing Pokemon was asleep.

So are there any ways to do that through variables, events, scripts, ect?

Also, I am not creating a Pokemon game.

As of right now I dont think there is a way to event this exactly how ur wanting. Because of the fact that there is no option under skills for it to check for a specific State. However regardless of that there is a sorta work around event wise but its limited. In this way it would only make it look like the player is using that skill, but instead it would just be some animations, with deal damage commands along with MP reductions or however far u want to go with it. The only downside is, once that specific state is inflicted, the actor will be forced locked into doing that next action to that specific enemy, not to mention this will take a lot of eventing. Also it may or may not work I've never myself attempted anything like this, so if u sound interested just lemme know.
