GDU Member Map

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Today I'm releasing our first GDU component! I had a couple of hours free so I whipped this up real quick. I got the idea from an old IPB mod which basically allows you to do the same thing, but you can't really get it anymore.

The member map allows you to add your location to the world map along with all of the other members.

Since this is a GDU component, first you must login at the following URL (using your account details from this forum(I say this forum, but its the same forum)): http://www.gdunlimited.net/login

And then click the button on the right to add your own marker:

Don't bother to add your actual physical address if you're worried about security. Just the suburb, city or even state would do fine. (but your marker may get hidden under someone in the same area as you)

I made this super quick, so please report any errors you find. Thanks!

i just realized that entering in empty values will cause the map to not show (thanks solshadow). So I'll fix that when I finish moving today.

Try not to enter empty values in the meantime.

Thanks to everyone who added their marker to the map. It's looking good so far.

I made updates to make sure the values inserted into the database are only coordinates. I eventually want to have javascript form validation (at first instance) so you can find out if you've done something wrong as soon as you hit submit, but I've yet to look into that. For now, there's a message that will come up if you did something wrong.
