Ecowolfsteen 14 Report post Posted June 17, 2012 I have both PS3 and Xbox 360. I'm quite excited about this new console though.
Knuckles 1 Report post Posted June 20, 2012 After the RRoD fiasco with their 360 I am not very hopeful for this system. I believe it will be another heater with weak solder joints and low-grade ceramic thermal paste that caused the RRoD in its predecessor to begin with. Of course I am hoping to be wrong but until I am proven wrong this will be my opinion. Microsoft should have done what Nintendo did for their Wii, use leaded solder for their joints. The Wii is the only console this generation that doesn't have a widespread issue with hardware failure mainly because of this. The system generating far less heat than the latest models of the Xbox360 could also be another factor, but even if the Wii generated the same amount of heat the HD consoles do it will still win the show in terms of hardware reliability. This is not coming from a Nintendo fanboy. The Wii was far from what Nintendo could have done. I am just stating facts.
Ecowolfsteen 14 Report post Posted June 21, 2012 The RRoD wasn't a problem with me. With one Xbox when I got it I just let it cool and unplugged it, aired everything out. I plugged it back in and it worked. I also did the same with another xbox and it worked good as new again.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 22, 2012 I think its really stupid to make a new system when they can do so much more with the current system, same can be said with PS3. Its also makes the people who spent 400+ dollars on their system (in the last 2 years) feel like they wasted their money, and the same can be said to the people who had to keep rebuying the Xbox because it broke way too easily. I think they need to learn to adjust the system they have now and work on its problems before they think about making a new system.
Ecowolfsteen 14 Report post Posted June 22, 2012 Well like you said: the Xbox breaks way too easily. So a new system maybe with better interior design is a good step. I like it.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 22, 2012 Yes, Xbox should definitly work on it. Out of all the systems ever created, the Xbox is the easiest to break—by accident or on purpose. The N64 and old Xbox were among the toughest systems I have ever seen. Sledgehammers, very bad falls, drinks, kicks and more. Why my brother use to lay his feet on the old Xbox while he played, and it never broke. We ended up selling it and we played it everyday. They need to do whatever they did then, now. Who cares if the design isn't "slim". If its huge, oh well. Its a system, not a handheld afterall. xD P.S Like you avvy and your Soft Blue Studios logo. Very neat! :D
ShinkuAura 15 Report post Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) I think its really stupid to make a new system when they can do so much more with the current system, Yes thanks to the technology of the Xbox 360 and PS3 these 2 can actually live for another 4 years, in fact sony said that the PS3 can hold up for a good 10 years. but Nintendo has a problem with their console... it's not powerful enough to keep up with these two titans. Sony is offering the Playstation wii. i mean move. and Microsoft is offering the kinect. Nintendo knows well that they're the kiddy company. they know that MS and Sony is going to 'that area of gaming'. and since the nintendo wii is a weak console to not hold games like GTA IV they're making the Wii U. which is 50% powerful then the PS3. but i see that nintendo isn't really seeing the big picture, Sony and MS isn't really interested in going to the next generation right now. of course the PS4 and Xbox 720 is coming out soon but Sony and MS knows that the current consoles can live for more time. (Internet Explorer on Xbox?) Also sony is giving a lot of games for the PS3 like GoW ascensions, The last of us. PSN exclusives. while xbox is giving new voice technology and tablets? and Halo 4... Yes, Xbox should definitly work on it. Out of all the systems ever created, the Xbox is the easiest to break—by accident or on purpose. I am a Proud owner of a N64. and my N64 still works but with some issues, my parents said that they miss the ol' hardware in the 80's or 90's. they say that stuff lasted longer. The Original xbox was awsome! it's now a classic i think. Edited June 23, 2012 by Omar510
Ecowolfsteen 14 Report post Posted June 23, 2012 I agree with all of this. And yes, regular Xbox is a classic. It takes 10 years for one to become one
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 24, 2012 Yes, the Xbox and PS3 have at least 4-5 more years out of it. They are still learning the full capabilities of their systems. It is foolish to waste money now on a system that isn't even needed or wanted. As for the Wii, I agree. The Wii, current, serves a good purpose for "fun" party games, but its about time Wii returns to its serious tone as well. The Gamecube, N64 and SNES/NES led the way for both fun and serious. I'm looking forward to this system. Plus, its wicked you can use your old system hook ups, even controllers. Or so I heard. xD

The Wii needed to be succeeded by a new console for many other reasons than just graphics, but the PS3 and 360 can go on for a few more years before being replaced with a new generation. Besides, how much better do you really need your graphics be? If you really are dying for new graphics, then you need to consider gaming on PC.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 26, 2012 Ahaha, that is true. If you want to see something that makes you think of "real life", then it is probably best to go for a PC. And for the price of the systems, controllers, games etc etc you could get a pretty amazing gaming PC, one that can play Skyrim as "DOPE LEVEL". I think they are afraid that if they let the Wii get ahead of them again, they will never be able to surpass them. Maybe they think that if the Wii decides to go—and it did—serious gamer style, it would be leading in that department for years and years to come—and that's exactly what happened in the past. lol
rgangsta 43 Report post Posted June 26, 2012 Not a fan of XBOX either so this isn't really news to me but that Kinect Glasses project looks really neat. Would be neat of SONY to do the same.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 26, 2012 If the glasses thing is something related to "controllerless gameplay", I doubt Sony wants any of that. They want to remain a "video game system", otherwise why not just go outside and play? If the glasses actually are about 3D features and whatnot, Sony has implemented this feature. They have sold the glasses, the TVs and the equipment for it for a while now, I do believe. :)
