Clerkius 1 Report post Posted June 28, 2012 (edited) Greetings! My name is Daniel Sobhi (AKA: Clerkius), and I am an intuitive, working eighteen year old young man with many ambitions for video games, and musical design. Whilst half of my day is spent working away for some money, I use the rest of my time to play and create! The programs I often use are RPG Maker XP, and composing music with Edirol Orchestra on FL Studios, particularly orchestral based. I do consider myself very formidable with RMXP having used it for over five years; however when it comes to spritework and scripting, let's just say I can't make any of that from scratch. I've been lurking around on these forums for quite some time now, having made a topic of my own, and even responding to a couple too, but I felt the need to properly introduce myself. My strong points in the RPG Maker environment are mapping, and eventing. I've designed several intricate game features using events alone, one of my more basic systems being a 'Bank' where gold can be deposited / withdrawn from. My main game project which I've worked on every now and then since early 2008 is called Glacias Harmony for RMXP. It started as one of those 'disposable' projects like the dozens of others before, but over time, my dedication towards its development grew as I continued to experiment and practice with it, shaping the game I wanted to with exceptionally great results! It wasn't until 2010 that I started polishing what work I'd gotten done so far, and it even resulted in redesigning 2/3's of the project itself into what I would consider a professional grade RMXP game at this point. Although I've yet to showcase any actual gameplay because just throwing out a demo out of nowhere wouldn't be any good. Refining and polishing is a patient process, and making sure that first impressions are on a positive note is what I thrive for. Upon its completion, Glacias Harmony will be released a free game. My project will be featuring an original character cast, and soundtrack. Here's one of my orchestrated tracks featured in my OST, made using Edirol Orchestral several years ago. 001 - Bandits Nest.mp3 I was a bit disgruntled with a few 'Noobs' using it when I was showcasing it back when RMXP.org was around, without permission, but their projects never really got so far so I overlooked it. Lol. There's a lot more I can share, but I would like to keep them disclosed until a more appropriate opportunity arises. As long as it isn't being dispensed allover the place, lol. I'm a bit 'grubby' with personal creations. Here's some screenshots of my work as well... Climbing Animation Post Town of Faltamore Miscellaneous Waterway My mapping has attracted some people, and I do commissions for them as well... ...Here's some WIP samples of commisioned maps that I am currently developing for the the owner of the MugenLord YouTube Channel / VenusOrionGames. These sections of the maps aren't entirely polished and refined, as I work through map errors, missing parts (Some are obviously seen), vigorously using the '4th layer' with events, and enhance the ingame look of it via lighting effects and screen tinting appropriate to the environment with eventing as well. Developing a portion of a map to the maximum detail as big as these screenshots can take over an hour or more depending on what type of map details are bestowed upon me by the comissioner. This map in particular is a size of 90x110. Lot's of work to be done before it's ready. If you're interested in some high detailed maps, you're more than welcome to contact me via PM, I'll set you up with the rest from there, I'm not expensive either; especially if they're smaller maps, which I'll gladly make for you, free of charge in multiple cases. As for my own project... I'm ALWAYS looking for sprite artists, character / concept artists who really know how to draw well, play testers, other musicians, and the like to help me push on with the development of Glacias Harmony. I'm a man who believes in rewarding those who contribute, and am more than willing to provide you with cash payments for various works. Send me a PM if you feel that you're up for working in any of the various departments I've presented, or if you believe you can help in any other way, don't hesitate to tell me how. My project is currently under the publishing labels of VenusOrionGames & Bon Ink Creations. I've paid Jon Bon for his helpful share of sprite work, so I'm certain he can assure you that I'm an honest man. What good would it be to have a bad reputations for not following through with payment measures? Well... Consider me a member here, I might be ranked a 'Newbie' on these forums, but I'm no newb when it comes to RPG Making. I'll see how I can contribute here, because I want to see RMXP userbase standing strong, it's been dieing off since 2009. Only four years since its original release, yet RM2K3's userbase is way bigger, and with an even bigger VX community! Thanks for reading! I'm a bit 'grubby' with personal creations. I completely understand. Luckily we are reaching a new age of independent media, and if you look into the Berne Convention (a legal act recognized by the majority of the free world) you will find your art is automatically copyrighted upon creation. Additionally many sites now exist where you can post your stuff for a more authentic rights acquisition. Examples of such are; Bandcamp.com - you can use this site to post and sell your music, they take a small percent of your sales, and allow you a place to host albums, and such. CreativeCommons.org - With 6 user generated license you can copyright free material you create to legally protect it's use for your intended method Jamendo.com - here you can post your open source (creative commons) music for use in independent products, tieing in your specific of the 6 licenses and allowing people to search based on that. A great way to get your name out there and/or use other independent musicians in your projects. Anyhow your music is great I listened to it while posting and when it ended I realized I forgot I was listening to it, perfect execution for intended effect. We here do not condone improper material use and I personally push for proper crediting of material in an all around manner. Jon Bon 43 Report post Posted July 2, 2012 The forums feel so desolate & empty today! Yup, likely bad timing. Also you may want to spoiler tag your pictures, make your post more readable hehe. Welcome again! P.S. Set yourself up an avatar too for the forum, make you seem more personable, only if you want though ;)
